I've seen various reports of him joining Sheffield Utd for £500,000 or so but I've not seen Hull mentioned before.

£500K is a good deal for him. Certainly better value for £500K than £11M for McGeady.

We could maybe offer him on loan to Celtic and sign McGeady and not charge much for the loan, with a clause that if they then offer Sheffy a contract it would cost them £500K. McSheffrey could be a decent player in the SPL.

Are you talking in HK$ or do you come from another planet?

We'll be lucky to get anything for Gary McSheffrey.

we will get at least 500,000 - 1 mil for him. He needs a move and could do a job in the championship or even in the prem with a good run

Offer him to Middlesbrough first! Or Palace!

Middlesbrough have just sold one left winger, Mark Yeates, to Sheffield Utd, so why would Sheff want to go somewhere he may not be first choice again?

To Middlesbrough - £4m + McSheffrey + Phillips/Bent for Adam Johnson (then he's their outright left winger, with Barry Robson on the right)

To Palace (unsure they'll go for it though as they need money up front) - £4m + McSheffrey for Victor Moses

He is not a bad player, not as bad as many make out.

You would get more bang for your buck with a £500K McSheffrey than £10M McFadden (not that he is better).

£500K and what about £10K wages will make some championship club a good player.

Now Bent is a player we wont get rid off, how many clubs would give him starts certainly not that could pay him £10K a week let alone not far off 3X that much.

Why would he move to Championship and be lucky to earn half his current wage just to play off the bench, he would be happy to sit here and cash in his deal.

I hope Bent tries to prove us wrong but as far as him going we would be hard pushed.

I honestly think in 2-3 years we may be thinking why did we sell McSheffrey for Peanuts or give him away..

I could be wrong and willing to eat humble pie, but i feel he is better than what many make out.

Boro and Palace dont look like getting to the Prem this season and so a player like McSheffrey would be a usefull and good servant for the next 18 months at least.

McSheffrey may not have made a hit in the Prem (what little chances) but while we could say Johnson has potential to and potential for us to be worth 10X more, in the Championship at that level i think McSheffrey would not be not even 3X less effective than Johnson or Moses.

McSheffrey + Phillips and £5M would be a deal that Boro would be silly to miss out on.

You're right, it would be a good deal for them, and Strachan is known to like both McSheffrey and Phillips. It's the kind of deal that would be beneficial for both clubs. Make it happen Eck!

That's one the finest deals we could do in this window

But are Crystal Palace allowed to bring players 'in' ?? ......Don't they have a transfer embargo placed on them ??

Thats something im not too sure on.... plus I think they need the money upfront rather than a player.

In that case, we should just offer the £5m up front for Moses that will land us him, and sell Sheff to Sheffield United or anyone for about £1m... works out the same more or less that way
