More and more mainstream attention coming our way now... long may it continue.. well, positively anyway.

Im sure after our game at Chelsea we'll have EVERY single media outlet talking about how 'brave Birmingham's run was ended'... when we've gone 15 games with hardly any credit really.

*EDIT* - 9000th post on here, jesus christ  I have no life :LMAO:

Back to the article....

McLeish can call upon the perfect combination of perspiration and inspiration from his players and both were on display as Birmingham scored two wonderfully worked first-half goals to leave a puzzlingly abject Everton with too much to do.

Another sign of the difficulty people are having with what Blues are doing, and the issue they have about accepting anything other than team work and perspiration as the cause of our success.

The statement contradicts itself....
By saying....."perfect combination of perspiration and inspiration"

and the saying....." two wonderfully worked first-half goals"

They really find it tough to state the blindingly obvious for us as fans, that there is a good element of skill in the side.

In fact, here's another contradiction that has been in the press and on peoples lips when trying to explain BCFC's success.

'They work so hard and are in your faces all the time' (that is a traditional view of Blues, and not what is happening now in my view), then they state the second record, that the playing team have not been changed for xxxxx games. Those two things don't go together.

I would suggest that Blues are not working as hard, or certainly not overstretching themselves anywhere near as much as did the Bruce sides did, and who used to pick up loads of injuries in doing so. They are organised, they are skilful, they are determined, they do have great character. But those things would be far too much for the traditionalists view of what Blues can do, for professional and amateur pundits.

The truth is that BCFC are rewriting the history books, not only in their results, but also in the nature of the club and team. These pundits might take a while to catch on.

I particularly like this artcile that has just surfaced at http://www.adifferentleague.co.uk/default....=6&Article=1163

Birmingham’s strength is built on the backs of Scott Dann and Roger Johnson, two imposing central defenders who relish an aerial bombardment the likes of which Stoke specialise in. Their team-mates further up the field push the opposition into playing into their hands with constant pressure all over the pitch, forcing the beleaguered players into hurried clearances which Dann and Johnson take care of with minimal fuss. When they are in possession, McLeish’s side rely on the tidy probing of Barry Ferguson and the darting runs of a revitalised Lee Bowyer to compliment forwards Christian Benitez and Cameron Jerome. With Jerome missing against Everton, James McFadden was moved alongside Benitez and displayed an iron will lacking during his time at Goodison Park. It manifested itself as volleys of abuse directed at the officials and a penchant for sly fouls when challenging for headers. Although they are capable of attractive football, Birmingham’s primary game plan is to pummel their opponents into submission before striking with a lightning counter-attack led by the tireless Benitez.

I just don't get why it's so hard to comprehend that Blues can actually play football now, and have played sides off the park this season.

We're not cloggers who depend on set pieces and throws like Bolton (before Coyle anyway), Stoke, Hull etc.

Some of our football has been an absolute joy to watch, but no mention of this. Guarenteed, if it was Villa on thisvrun, the media would hype them up no end, and talk about cracking the big 4 and fighting for the title!

To Be fair , Villa have never got the credit they have deserved sometimes from the National media. We have to face it most nationals are only interested in London , Manchester and Liverpool.
