I keep reading a lot that we are punching above our weight but I don’t think this is the case to me it looks like young players are fulfilling their potential and the older players are playing with a point to prove Joe hart last year could have only dreamed of being England number 1 and at the start of the season still didn’t look that good but it just goes to show with someone showing some confidence in you what can be achieved and I think it his shirt to lose now. Stephen Carr always had it in his locker and just goes to show that the only cure for an injury is time and rest Roger Johnson and Scott Dann both proving that as long as u do the simple things right and don’t try and do any think fancy you can’t go wrong and with the determination and work rate they have are probably the best central defensive partnership in the prem. Liam Ridgewell I think u lot give him way to much stick he’s doing a great job in an alien position and he’s getting up and down the line to back up faddy very well and the results are showing that together even Chelsea are not garneted to score how often has that happened over the last 5 years. Lee Bowyer playing like he is 18 again always had it in his locker to be one of the best cm players in the prem but for his lack of discipline on and off the field and just goes to show we do all grow up at some point and Barry Ferguson seams to bring out the best in him and he is finally showing just how good he is what can I say about Barry Ferguson had a point to prove and is proving it him and bowyer look to be a very good partnership pity they are in the later stages of their careers. James McFadden and Seb Larsson lost their way a bit when we got relegated but now showing what they can do change a game in an instant with a moment of brilliance and that goal on Saturday wouldn’t have looked out of place if they were wearing arsenal shirts. Chucho always looks like he’s going to get a goal just needs to get a couple In a row and don’t think you will stop him holds the ball up well got a great eye for a pas and the bloke never stops running and never gives up and as for Jerome another player you give a lot of stick to but you can’t take away the fact he sticks the ball in the net when it matters and what more do you want from a striker that’s what he’s paid to do and he is young and has time to learn to pass lol all in all the hole team plays for each other and that mix of grafters and inspiration youth and experience playing with confidence is just fulfilling its potential :Blues:

Dont worry my friend, your remarks are spot on. There are those that dont like to admit that we might just be the real deal and say we are just inform. We are not just inform we are as you say a team reaching our potential, and that team includes the Manager. Great post mate and dont worry about the spelling Police.

I keep reading a lot that we are punching above our weight but I don’t think this is the case to me it looks like young players are fulfilling their potential and the older players are playing with a point to prove.

Joe hart last year could have only dreamed of being England number 1 and at the start of the season still didn’t look that good but it just goes to show with someone showing some confidence in you what can be achieved and I think it his shirt to lose now.

Stephen Carr always had it in his locker and just goes to show that the only cure for an injury is time and rest Roger Johnson and Scott Dann both proving that as long as u do the simple things right and don’t try and do any think fancy you can’t go wrong, with the determination and work rate they have are probably the best central defensive partnership in the prem.

Chucho always looks like he’s going to get a goal just needs to get a couple In a row and don’t think you will stop him holds the ball up well got a great eye for a pas and the bloke never stops running and never gives up.
As for Jerome another player you give a lot of stick to but you can’t take away the fact he sticks the ball in the net when it matters and what more do you want from a striker that’s what he’s paid to do and he is young and has time to learn to pass lol all in all the hole team plays for each other and that mix of grafters and inspiration youth and experience playing with confidence is just fulfilling its potential :Blues:

I agree to a point but do feel we are punching a little above our weight.

Our true streanth will be seen when we lose a game and see if we bounce back , in the past we have had decent runs none like this but then lost a game and gone on a bad one.

For now I'm just enjoying it and long
may it continue.

Ah, well get in there and milk that system! My wife's dyslexic and when she started her degree she got a free computer and yellow paper and stuff. Genuinely.

That isn't milking the system, it's helping to make it a more equal playing field.. People with dyslexia have often been marginalised in education - mainly because they have higher running costs to get to the level of contemporaries.
Same with disabled people.

Getting support for special equipment to minimise they're personal costs is no problem to me.

You are right. I've known of a couple of people who have had grants and support to help them through Uni and they both got 1.2s.
They couldn't have survived that 3 and 4 year stretch without the grants and support. Both dyslexic. Neither milking the system - in fact they will soon be high earners and paying more back into the system than if they were shelf stacking.

I agree to a point about us punching above our weight but also think the team is coming of age. The only way to see if we are punching above our weight is to see what happens when we do finally lose a game, does our form drop off and we go on a bad run or do we get right back on track?? The next 2 games will be a massive test but lets face it this season is all about staying in this league so lets enjoy it hey!

I don't think the current XI are punching above their weight. We are top8 and that XI themselves are a top8 team.

However the club is punching above it's weight. The rest of the squad is nowhere near good enough - indeed half of the remainder are not even Prem standard.

It is important we add - so let's hope Michel is up to it and Gardner if he signs. A left back and a forward before the end of Jan please.

No, just add a couple of paragraphs and ignore the spelling and grammar police. Some people love to show their superiority on here.

each player seems to be maintaining a high level of performance , the fear of failing on the pitch has been replaced with the fear of letting your team mates down.

i get the impression that as a group they understand what they need to do,all the comments are about the team, they know now that they are a unit and with the recent run will know that they are good enough for the prem.

this cup thing has come at a good time too, should keep everybody on their toes as there is a very faint wiff of wembley in the air !

and the thing i like most about this team is i we intimidate other teams, with our defence being as strong as it is other teams know that if we score we stand a very good chance of winning the game.

now if we can get a decent striker and a left back i can't see (barring a major injury crisis ) why we shouldn't be looking at and aiming for 7th,much much better than anybody could have seriously hoped for before the season kicked off.

i'm a quite happy supporter all in all **thumbup

We are punching a little above our weight but most of all we are playing with confidence and this is a great leveler.

You can have a really skilful player but if something rattles them then they cant perform. We have an excellent team spirit and dressing rooom where all players want to go out and perform. They want to be successful and are being.

There concerntration and application is outstanding. People keep groaning about not spending 40m but McLeish knows he has to get te right people in to blend in with what we have already.
