Apparantly Peggy Lee - Manana (Is Soon Enough For Me) was the most popular song on 29/03/1948

I remember Why by Anthony Newley.

"I'll never let you go WHY because I love you"
I'll always love you so WHY because you love me"

See told you I was old. :D

He played The Artful Dodger in the original 'Oliver Twist' film as well (1948)

If I tell you it was "Mr Tambourine Man", could you tell roughly when I was born?

Oh, somewhere between 22/7/1965 and 5/8/1965, I'd say.....

Eek - I had another look after looking at your "guess" & I looked at the wrong line tomatoes

Mine was actually "I'm Alive" by The Hollies (16th July)

Now how spooky is that for a song to be at Number 1!!!

Good song to have at your funeral though. That'd get a giggle.

Simple Minds - Belfast Child

Never heard of em!

:o

It's a good song (or was, depending on how you think it holds up through the years) done to the music of She Moved Through the Fair. You should give it a listen. **thumbup

Simple Minds did, Don't you Forget About Me, as well; if you had an older sister during the 80's the thought of this song alone will leave you cringing (mine listened to it nonstop).

Your normally right about music mate but your so wrong here.

The song plays at the startof the brekfast club which is probably my 2nd fave film ever and is a class tune. I actually played in a band for a very very short period of time and we covered it at practise (I was in the band for 2 months only)

I thought it played at the end when Bender gives the raised fist, and then the credits.

I have no problems with the film, it's a classic.

I do have a problem with the amount of times i had to hear Don't you Forget About me, outside of the context of the film (it was good until about the 100,000th listen).

But it's strange, because now i can't stop smiling about it; nostalgia perhaps. I should phone my sis.

I'd also be very interested to hear your former bands cover version. Did you speed it up?

yeah it was a really bad 'me first...' style cover (ie just speeded up and played really sloppy  )

It plays at the start and end, but not much at the start, maybe intro and first verse...Im gonna get a take away and watch breakfast club tonight.

That and fast times at ridgemont high are both awesome.
