Reading that article kept me from thinking negative things about him for a good couple of minutes... But then I remembered, its easy to say those things now, after he did leave us, and he DID celebrate the goal at St.Andrews... If he comes over to the fans and claps in a well-respected manner after the game then I will happily clap back... But if there is anything sarcastic about it, or him being a wind-up merchant then ill blow a fuse! |

Imagine you've just scored a goal against an your old team infront of about 25,000 of their fans all booing you. Some people lose control in their celebrations on a parks pitch never mind on one of the biggest footballing stages in the world. |

Yeah I totally understand that, alot of things that happen on the pitch are adrenaline-based and whatever, but at the same time, by the same principle, the fans are also caught up in the moment, and find themselves screaming obscenities at him... Savage has a hell of a lot more incentives to ''get over'' his outburst on the pitch when he scored, such as more money per week to help him come out and protect his professional image, spur on his team and try and calm the boo-boys before tomorrow.. Where as the fans will find it alot harder to forget about the anger felt when he did it.. I understand people who still like him because when he was on-song at Blues he was practically a fan on the pitch playing for us, but I also understand the people who hate his guts.. I lean more towards disliking him, but like I said if he gives the fans a well-mannered applause then ill clap back. |

I will always class Robbie Savage as a top player for us, his influence on a game can swing the result in your favour, juast ask Dion Dublin ;) . He said the single biggest regret he has is the way in which he left us. I will always clap him and consider him one of my favorite players. The fact is that at his age he knew he had one last big signing on fee left in his career and he wanted it to add to the security for him and his family after football, he just went about it the wrong way. Robbie your a blues legend mate **thumbup |

That is actually a very good point... Savage probably put in a transfer request to join Blackburn.. Bruce and DS, etc knew how important he was to the team and how much we all loved him.. I'm sure he was most people's fave player... Of course we wanted to keep him, so the transfer request was rejected and at some stage made public along with Savage's implication that he wanted to be near his parents - as if we should sorry for him and give him sympathy.. It seemed like it was a white lie to everyone.. This whole moving to be near his parents thing got dragged through the mud. Bruce, Golds and Sullivan did drag it on for far too long, when it may have just been better to let him go. He wanted to play for Mark Hughes his boy-hood hero, he may have wanted a one last big transfer sweetener.. Whatever, in reality he gave 3 and a half years excellent service with 3 weeks of controversy at the end.. His departure was controversial, it upset a few people - but isn't that all ways the way with Savage.. Controversial and unsettling? Incidentally, none of the players on the pitch tomorrow have played alongside Savage, either in their careers or at Blues.. So I can't see them really having any ill-feelings towards him, even if he starts to "play up".. As professionals, I'm sure they'll have worked out how to cope with such wind-up merchants. It'll be interesting to see how Savage plays tomorrow and how the Blues fans will react... There's more than likely going to be a load of people who'll be booing him.. This will probably be his last game against us in his career. |

In my eyes,it has taken till this year to replace him.Always gave 100% and he knows he f@@ked up the way he went, and we've moved on. He will thrive on any abuse given to him so ignore him. Hope he applauds us after we beat Derby 2-0 tomorrow. |

It's all academic...the chances of GB ever taking the field against Blues again is pretty remote. Derby aint going to get promoted, we aint going to get relegated...so he's likely to see out his days...one more season maybe...in the championship and then retire to clean his Bentleys! |

i remember his last game for us when he played in the reserves i was at that game and i had never witnessed such divide amongst the blues fans steve bruce was watching from the private part of the stand at solihull borough whilst i was leaning against a single wall on the half way line blues fans were in a sense pleading for him to stay whilst the others were trying to abuse him I dunno why bruce played him that game, maybe to try get him to change his mind must admit it was a very very emotional night and the following home game at st andys was like a morgue regardless of how we feel about the bloke he was the heart and soul of this club for a good few years and he delivered some blood pumping performances |

as a derby fan, i first hated savage, thought he was just a clown, and thought his legs had gone. In the last 12 months, he's been brilliant, he has clearly matured from his stupid days. he is a leader on the pitch, and breaks up play well He's a lively character, also, one time he picked up a father and son who were walking on the motorway to pride park because it was dangerous for them |

Did he? I didn't see that, in fact he came no where near us in the ground after the game. Just walked back from clapping the Derby fans along the mid field looking at us, possibly understanding the venom that was directed at him. Fair play to him tbh for risking the venom to clap the Derby fans who had tried to make him feel welcome, but they failed. |

I think the whole saga should be put to bed really, I mean in recent history he was 1 player who gave more to the cause than any other player and lets be honest knowing how it all ended we would agree that we would not change a thing should we go back in time and we all would still sign him! Also he may have left at the right time he certainly was not the player at Blackburn that he was here and how time has moved on so have we and look who is better off now. Like him or not he is a character in the game and will always go down as one hell of a Blues player in his day! |

Don't underestimate Robbie. He deliberately stayed to the end. Firstly he chatted to the ref and linesmen, then he meandered to the centre circle by which time all players had gone. The ground (as he knew would be) was still full of Blues fans and then he slowly walked off...............milking the abuse. Personally, I like Robbie Savage. I still love the Dion Dublin sending off and Robbie's contributions to our Villa wins. |
