The ball wouldn't have spun in, as it came off the post my heart sunk because it was rolling away from the goal line. Thank God Ridge was there

Thank the Heavens that I'm not the only one, I thought I was going mad for a minute!

Nice to see that some people have discovered Specsavers! :applause: ;)

Look at it again .....the defender missed the ball .....the spin of the ball was taking the ball into the net at the far corner

Really living up to your name now Partisan eh? LOL

Let's try to be a bit more objective for a change. ;)

How more objective can I be if I've looked at something ten times with my own eyes

The ball from Kevin Phillips's shot off the post was spinning in to the other far corner......the Derby defender looked to have fluffed his clearance by missing the ball but Ridge was right behind him to make sure the ball ended up in the net

Had Ridge not been there I'm convinced the ball would have still crossed the line completely

Can only call it the way I see it

Your post baffles me mate. In no way was that ball crossing the line. A goals a goal anyway so no need for the hooplah about how it got over the line.

We're off to Wembley!!

Looked like it would have crossed the line anyway to me too, good instinct from Ridgewell to follow it through though

Just got back in from the game, great atmosphere, shame the awful performance, we should have put them under the cosh a lot earlier on, we made them look very good indeedy! Should have bought Gardener on earlier though. Super Kev!!! And also glad Savage got the reception he deserved! It was ace!!

It's not over yet. Believe me, we will win this match as long as we get the next goal, and I reckon Phillips will get it.  **thumbup  :banner:

i wish i had your optimism!! faddy and jerome are embarrasing!!!!!

Ever the optimist, me.

I just got the goalscorer wrong. It was Scott Dann. Now we will go on and win it. Don't forget, I told you so. ;) **thumbup

ahem!!! yeah you did lol

long long road and all that but i could not see us scoring one let alone two !!!

A fantastic example of McFadden there.

Ball just inside the area, man in space to his left, he moves to his right, man to his left still in space, around a player, back in to the left, man to his left in a fantastic position....McFadden blasts over the bar.

If he wasn't so greedy and kept things simple, he'd be bloody dangerous.

Larsson off - Fahey on
Benitez off - Phillips on

I'd much rather have kept Benitez on, he was really troubling their defence and still looked fit to continue. I'd have taken McFadden off as he just isn't breaking into the game at all, and gone 4-3-3.

Chuco had to come off he was doing nowt, phillips to grab a couple now.

He was doing far more than McFadden, Guest.

should have kept benitez on and took jerome off

For the season!

Did you see Savage at the end of the game last man on the pitch staring at all the blues fans as he sloooooowwwly walked of the pitch w**ker........

God only knows how we ground out that win today but am mighty glad that we are still in the cup :) :)

:Blues: Well all I can say is thank God we have a defence, they are awesome in both saving and scoring.

As a side note noticed Dindan the dinner man scored for Pompey again.

Been back an hour and a bit now, and just read through all this thread too... isnt it funny that the main moaners all come from the people who dont go to the away games? Just listening to commentary and forming opinions.

Chucho and Jerome werent as bad as some people are making out here, and McFadden was just starting to pick it up but got took off as he came into it.

Hulse was a handful for them upfront, and was pushing and barging into our defenders, but wasnt penalised once... but Johnson and Dann stuck to it and battled away with him.

And a big commotion over whether Phillips' shot wouldve gone in or not ? I love how out of anything that could possibly be a controversial issue, its whether a goal wouldve gone in, even though the onrushing full back belted it in :)

Its been a day of great endings for me, first Wales in the rugby with a stunning and relieving comeback to win, then Blues carry on the trend! Ridgewell for top scorer this season anyone? :P

Now for a great ending to the day! :lager:

Jeeze ! Do you still live in the time warp of the 1930's or something when everyone tuned into the old Radio

Just because you were at a game doesn't mean in any way, shape or form your opinions are more valid

This match was broadcast on live TV all around the world and you should be aware that ex pats and BlueNoses in countries like the USA, Australia, NZ and Canada get to see more live or same day broadcast games involving BCFC than viewers in the UK actually get to see.....in fact the same applies to every other Prem club......Why do you think there are more ManYoo fans in America than there are in Lancashire ???

I've had this argument before on here but we armchair pounders do see the game from a better angle than the away support actually inside the stadium and have the benefit of replays, commentary and analysis by experts (well OK then, only some are experts) as well as our own individual tape or disc replay methods

The issue about whether the goal was going in or not is a typical debate found on any Football Chat Forum......why do you have a problem with it ?.....we all agreed and are all as relieved Ridge was there on hand to make sure

Get off your high horse FGS :banghead:

Jerome & Benitez were both poor in my opinion.
I watched the game live in Moscow on a TV screen, and believe me, they were both sh 1te. We weren't that much better elsewhere on the pitch, so please stop trying to truss it up into something that it wasn't. Derby were the better side today & we got away with it.

As for McFadden, if it's going to take him that long to 'just start to get into it' then he really shouldn't be playing.

was a good game, dont think my derby deserved to lose .. but hey, thats football

also,

our central defender was in non league last year with burton !!

we're low down in the championship, but to be fair, most of the season we had no centre backs or flair players, they have just become fit now, and you have seen our recent results

also, stadium was emptier than our usual 29k because we were charged 25 quid for rubbish tickets,
