Not a thread from me regarding chants directed to him... or anything he done in the game (I thought he was pretty good for them to be honest, and even managed to boot the ball in the linesman's groin  ) Just about his interview after the game... I put BBC Radio Derby on once I got back to the car and they had an interview with Robbie, and, modest as ever, he went on to declare himself as Birmingham's third best player of all time.... I presume he meant behind Trevor Francis and Christophe Dugarry. That led to a discussion all the way home in which the car just kept thinking of players who are above him in the 'best player of all time' standings. So... third best Blues player of all time? Or no where near? :) |

'Of all time', includes players who were in the Birmingham team who did well in Europe in the 1950's, the 1963 League Cup winning team, those from the Trevor Francis era, including Francis himself, Latchford, Burns and co. Then we've had some rare gems, like Bertie Auld, Frank Worthington, Dugarry, Seaman, Freddie Pickering, and loads whose names just escape me at the moment. Robbie Savage did well for us, and probably would feature in a top 20 or 30 list of fans favourites, but top 3? Not even close. That's my unbiased opinion. |

Savage wouldn't feature in any list of any of my family (9 current living Bluenoses, all are or have been season ticket holders) of Blues players, period, he is hated in our family. No player is bigger than any club, not even Trevor Francis, who i may add was a model professional at Blues, both as a player and a manager, Savage wouldn't even be fit to clean Trevors boots!! infact i don't even know why i am talking about the long haired lout |

Just read the Daily Mail interview with Robbie Savage, he says that Birmingham was the best time of his football life and it was only the draw of Mark Hughes that he left us. Sorry if this has already been said, I know its late. |

best players I always have a bone of contention with because its always reliitive. YES he was important to us as a new prem team and helped us and also was a good character for getting the fans going. However other players have been just as influential but at different times/seasons/reasons. He is no more important to us than mark ward was when he came, gleghorn at the time he was with us, forsell...liam daish...the list really is endless of players who have done as much for us at one period in time as he did. |

He isnt even the top ex blues player that now does 5live commentaries..... and there is only 2 of them. So out of 2 he is second. And seriously there isnt enough room in this message box to list ex blues players that are better, more respected, made more appearances, scored more goals etc, etc, etc, etc. The only category he is top of is the 'getting Dion Dublin to get himself sent off'. And if it was Radio Derby the presenter is probably scared to question anything he says after the 9 minute attack he made on him the other week in that press conference. |

He's not the third best, he's so obviously the best. Must have been an oversight forgetting to induct him into the legends lounge? |

I thought Robbie played really well yesterday, and in a very good spirit (OK there was the odd dive). Always getting into space to receive the ball and most often finding a man with his passes. Would have scored too against any normal goalie. Good luck to you Robbie. :applause: |

He was a popular player and he has made the most of his abilities in football and this deserve credit hence his decent career is football. But he never had the potential to be top class whic h is why he never made the grade Man Utd. I think Mr Savage probably knows full well he isnt even close to being our 3rd bets players and this is just an opportunity to wind up the Blues fans who barrack him now the relationship has soured. It is unfortunate that given his one time popularity and the way he once wore he shirt has now been totally forgotten much to his own conduct. Birmingham City have had top players which Savage is no where near but to underline the point in terms of standard we need look no further than our current midfield. With Savage at his prime I think he woud struggle getting past Bowyer and Ferguson for a 1st team spot. Possibly at his prime he could match the current Bowyer (his form has dipped at little) but he couldnt match Ferguson, no way, no chance different class. |
