Really does sound like he wants the move to happen. You would have to feel for the guy if that did happen and he missed the final however I think it will be Chelsea who get past City before the final.

It'd never happen but think how great the press for them would be if Man City said "go on son, you can play". Would be a huge PR boost of citeh. Ah well its blues, we'll probably lose to portsmouth anyway :D

He wouldn't be able to play even if they agreed, its against the FA rules I believe.

As far as I know that is only a Premier League rule, it's down to the 2 clubs to agree if he can play in cup games...

I'm led to believe that used to be the case but no longer, its an FA rule not a Premier League rule which means it counts for all competitions. I maybe wrong but im sure that discussion was on SSN earlier this season regarding someone in the lower leagues.

It may have been changed, can't say I can remember seeing anything about it previously with players on loan at other clubs... But todays mail says Manchester City wouldn't let him play if we were to meet....

The nightmare scenario for Hart in the competition would be to draw his parent club, Manchester City.

They wouldn’t let the loanee play.

Nothing in the FA Rules would bar him from playing against Man City if they permitted him to. It's purely an English Premier League rule. However, Man City would not permit him to.

It would be like us saying, ''Aww Tevez is uneligible for you lot cause he belongs to us (Obviously he doesnt), but seeing as though you want to win really badly, I suppose we'll let him play'' Lol..

They would be our competitors and Mancini would obviously, and quite rightly, want to do anything to have the advantage over us, just as any normal manager would...

I think we can catergorically deny the chance of Mancini getting drunk and falling love struck to the twinkle in Hartys eye and letting him play..

I have more than enough faith that if we should get through, and play City wether it be Semis or finals, Maik could deffo do a job, just like he did in the league against them!

He's said all the right things all season...great attitude IMO.

What a coup it would be if we could get him permenantly. From what I've seen of him hes a far better player than Foster, Robinson and Green.

As much as I heart Hart and hope hes a blues player for a long time, if we make it and city do it could be Maiks last chance to win a cup!

It will have to be a record transfer for a keeper in the Prem to sign him 15 million at least......but we can afford it. **thumbup

You keep saying that, and theres no way Joe Hart will command a £15m transfer fee.

Think of the best goalies in this league in recent times.

Shay Given - £8m
Edwin van der Sar - £3m
Petr Cech - £7m
Pepe Reina - £7m

I know he has age on his side, but he wont cost £15m.
