I was a little disappointed he didn't mention Derby's successful campain in the Prem 2 seasons back.
Now that's an achievement even Blues can't match.

Derby: Birmingham alienate all age groups at Pride Park
Yesterday’s cup game against Birmingham provided a little bit of light relief from the week to week pressures of the Championship and was the third home game in succession in which Derby have been the underdogs. We won the previous two (Forest and the Cartoon army for non-Rams fans) and were very unlucky to lose to Birmingham yesterday.
Birmingham bought their full allocation of away tickets and I’m sure they enjoyed their day. Let’s face it, an injury-time winner in any away game is always a good thing. However the general arrogance and pathetic way they backed their team needs addressing. So let’s set the record straight.
Birmingham are having one of their best seasons ever, which wouldn’t be difficult as their honours list is derisory and probably one of the worst in the top few tiers of English football. Conversely, Derby have had a shocking season so far yet still average 5,000 more home fans than the Blues. “Your grounds too big for you” – you’ve got to be joking.
Birmingham are a horrible club with horrible fans who play at a horrible ground and you can form your own opinion about their Hong Kong-based ownership. In fact they’re probably the footballing equivalent of a Matsui stereo – looks OK, works OK but you just never get away from the feeling it is really poor quality.
Although there were plenty of Bluenoses present yesterday, their support was shocking. Loads of noise early on but not one solitary chant in the 18 minutes between our goal and their equaliser and then obviously loads of gloating thereafter. Awful fans.
Having said all that, the Blues have had a great season based on a static team and Alex McLeish’s unswerving loyalty to his 1-0 France away game plan. Rumours that he’s had the white board from the Stade de France dressing room tattooed on his back are unconfirmed. Let’s see how good they are when he gets some injuries and/or tries to sign some better players.
I think my 8-year-old son summed it up best in the car on the way home – “Dad, I hate Birmingham now”. So do I, son. OK, that’s the sour grapes over with. Back to the Rams.
As a general comment, Derby are playing really well at the moment and look a very strong Championship side. It seems with a combination of focus, belief, key players getting match fit (as opposed to just being on the pitch) and superb gaming of the loan market, Nigel has finally turned the corner. Whilst the future might not quite be bright, there is definitely a warm glow building.
would rather be a nothing team on the way up, than an old giant slowly deflating into obscurity. !
Oh and Nigel Clough is Not BRIAN CLOUGH !! think you should know that !

No one likes us, we dont care............
I care, I find his attitude very offensive and rude........ He is right about our poor support at home for sure, but to call us horrible is plain stupid, the world is full of nice and horrible people side by side, can you imagine some of the **** that follow Derby, doesn't mean they are all the same.I would like to meet that guy for a little chat about people. I am a Brummie who lives away from Brum and knows what most real people think about us as a club and a group of fans,he is way off the mark.

The east Midlands - what a **** hole. If I lived there, I'd be jealous of us as well.
Thing is, if it were true and he really felt that way, the author would have written it before irrespective of the result.
And you know what, he didn't did he?
Shame about the kid - you shouldn't teach your children to hate other people. Especially over something as trivial as a sports team.

Yeah
This picture always made me laugh
But you can see it was tampered with and edited (Feyenoord shirt underneath the black)
The original was this young Feyenoord supporter giving the sign to rival Ajax of Amsterdam supporters........No wonder the Dutch have a hooligan problem worse than ours these days

I'd imagine if I lived in Green Bay, Wisconsin, I'd hate those freezing bloomin' winters more than The Chicago Bears

Can't argue with him there either.
As of end January for this season
Blues (top half Prem) average gate 24,901 total gate 298,820 Derby(bottom half CCC) average gate 29,234 total gate 409,280
Apart from some personal insults a lot opf what he says can be backed up with facts. It appears many on here are just as bitter as he is.
I suggest look at yourselves and clean up your own act - I also noted his "horrible fans" quote - he's not the only one around the country that has said that, well done zulus.

I have always thought on Burton as West Midlands. It's classed as South Staffs which tends to be West Mids (certainly not East). Also when I stayed there the hotel got West Mids regional news.

very true.
Oh away fans going quiet after the home team scores shocker?!?!
All fans go quieter when losing - Derby fans included!
Our support was very vocal and to call our support poor for 17 minutes beween them scoring and our equaliser is stupid.
aww our support is so nasty!! :LMAO:
"your grounds too big for you" has got to be one of the tamest football chants possible!

cant believe that a grown man has spat his dummy out and agreed with his 8 year old son, when he says he hates birmingham now! oh boo hoo mate. Whats worse though is him effectively encouraging his son to 'hate', just because their team lost.

3 Major factors you've missed:
1) How many football club's are there in Derby?
The City of Birmingham has roughly 100,000 regular going football supporters split between 3 clubs. No other major city has 3 'Big' clubs outside London (which has 8 times the population).
2) How many Jobs have been lost in the recession in Derby compared with Brum?
Its widely documented Birmingham has lost more job's than any other city.
3) How many season ticket holders bought '3 Year Deals', when they reached the premiership?

Sorry with the last 3 paragraphs of his statement....
i am in Derby twice a week, what I had was mostly " well we pushed you all the way and gave you a game "
I could not not disagree with this statement except when explaining... That is the difference with the Prem and the Champs... You played youre best and lost we were average to poor and won?
People have no right comparing Brian & Nigel Clough, they are both from different footbaling eras.
But, given time Nigel Clough imo will become a topline manager as he learns his trade through the years?
We shouldnt worry about the one eyed Derby football fan and his nipper - we got em all ! :banner:
