Good. That means that the traffic won't be nearly as bad.

Quality if you play sunday football and are going to stay the night in portsmouth friday night.

travelodge only £39 (at the mo) can fit 3 people in. all booked.

Just hope I have more luck than the league game in January. I'd booked a hotel in Bournemouth for the Fri and Sat and found out about the postponement as the train pulled into Southampton station but we made the best of a bad situation :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink:

I'm just glad I've got ATC membership as it's going to be huge scramble for them 3,000 tickets :Blues:

typical shoddy organising.

12.30 and people have got to get from Birmingham to Portsmouth! and yet the 5.20 game is (most likely) going to be an all-London game?! (Fulham v Spurs)

That said, 5.20 would also be borderline too late aswell.

Its about time they either didnt show it on TV, or showed it on TV at 3pm!

Putting the games on TV ruins the whole away game experience with their stupid kick off times and dates! :redcard:

(will prob still go though  )

Why does it ruin the away game experience?

If you manage to get a ticket, it'll be a great experience (as long as we win!)

If you don't get a ticket, you can find a pub to watch with other like-minded Bluenoses - hence you at least get some sort of atmosphere.

I could understand your point if we didn't sell our full allocation of tickets to an away match, but with a maximum of about 3000 tickets available & probably at least twice that who would go, I don't really follow your thoughts

Am i right in saying that its not a bad car journey down to the south coast? Maybe 2 and half / 3 hours? People wouldn't need to leave that early would they?

It was always going to be one of the Saturday games

If they had scheduled Sunday it means we'd have been playing each other twice in two days :banghead: :banghead:

So Saturday was the only logical choice

The majority of football fans feel the same.

....And the FA wonder why he FA Cup has lost it's appeal.

Bothe semis are silly KO times as well.

It is easy. M40, A34, M27 all dual carriageway and motorway. It's about 140 miles from Solihull and should take less than 3 hours.

True enough. Don't come off at the first exit for Portsmouth(W). You want Portsmouth(E), or Southsea.

Because when I go to away games at 3pm on a Saturday (the standard football time) I can get up (early) get a train down with mates and a few cans, get to a pub for a couple of hours and then go to the game.

when TV companies move kick off times to suit themselves it means I have to miss out on things I like doing on away games.

like for this game, theres barely enough time to get into a pub before the game.
If it was a late game, youd end up having to get back really late into Bham (altho later games are generally less bad)

It ruins the away game experience because it stops you from being able to fit much in before the game.

theres alot of people who like to get a train down and have a few beers before the game and make a day of it. early kick offs completely take that away from you.

Put your discriminations aside, but I think WBA vs Villa is the mouth-watering fixture.

PS it will be nice to be the first club through, then we can watch the other three ties relaxed and without any nerves.

"Put your discriminations aside, but I think WBA vs Villa is the mouth-watering fixture"

It could well be Reading vs Palace though, which isn't quite as mouthwatering
