Pomey have requested permission to sell players outiside the transfer window in order to pay their outstanding debts to HMRC.

Maybe just maybe we could pick up a striker after all......lets wait and see :)

What about Utaka?Harry ruined my career?

The daft thing is by buying their players we could save their club and ruin their season in one go!

I would have thought that any agreements made now wouldn't take effect until the seasons close player-wise.

So I think they're trying to get the funds in now but will still have those players til the end of the season.

Dindane belongs to Portsmouth, they signed him the other week (dont know where the hell £3.5m come from, but it shows how messed up Portsmouth are if they're paying money out like that in their state).

As for Pompey players, id only probably have Belhadj from them... and their only other major saleable assets are Kevin Prince Boateng (bad attitude and snubbed us repeatedly before), Dindane, and David James.

They shouldnt be allowed to sell outside of the window though, why should they get special treatment for running the club into the ground? They either have enough money to get by as they are now.. or they go out of business IMO... whilst I dont like to see any side go out of business, its only fair.

if they go out of business will they still have to sell players for administrators money or will they all become free agents?

That cannot be allowed to happen - they can't have their cake and eat it.

If they get dispensation to sell players now then either they are a) allowed to play for their new team, or b Pompey aren't allowed to play the players to be sold.

Its a complete mess and i'm sorry to say its Portsmouth FC's fault. The fans have my sympathy but as some people have already pointed out in 2005/06 'Appy Arry' spent a fortune in that January transfer window which breathed life into them to stay up at our expense, so i have no sympathy.

Sorry Foz seems not

FF Lens website
"Visiting RMC today, Gervais Martel has confirmed rumors circulating for several months side Lens. Aruna Dindane is under contract with Racing until June 2011, it will have a very low salary for his final contract year. This confirms in passing that Portsmouth did not buy the player, who is still in Lens. A situation which could benefit the Ivory Coast international, who want to buy his contract this summer to engage in the club of his choice. He should have to pay a few hundred thousand euros, at most, to obtain his freedom of contract."

I think if they get permission to sell now they won't be allowed to loan the player back to them. That would be unfair on the other clubs at the bottom, even if Pompey were to accept a points penalty because if they kept them they could still conceivably avoid relegation. The players they sold would not be allowed to play for their new clubs because it was outside the transfer window and unfair to all clubs. The players would probably be allowed to play in reserve games but nothing else.

As some stage DS and DG will say how their Jan 2006 strategy was right because look where it got Portsmouth. In some ways they have a point but in reality in my opinion they were expecting relegation (I actually think DS said this recently) so their strategy was to rebuild the squad in summer 2006.

Surely Kevin Prince-Boateng is worth a shout? Should be able to snaffle him for a cut-price, clear ability on the ball, very energetic and pops up with occasional goals. He'd compliment Fergo/Bowyer superbly when one/both of them run out of steam eventually... What does everyone reckon?

:Blues: :banner:

By the way, I know this should be on transfer talk strictly speaking, but I guess no-one would look at that section at the moment!

No because hes already played for Portsmouth and Tottenham this season so cant play for anybody else, he is also injured at the moment and has a poor attitude.

None of the Portsmouth players that are sold would be able to play in the premierleague this season anyway.
