So the shadowy Yeung regime is calling it's minions to Headquarters. Blues have a bad record after foriegn trips. Not Happy. http://www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-s...97319-25867743/ |

Whats wrong with a trip to the far east? I will help promote the blues to aforeign market. Also you say we have a bad season after going abroad, did you forget this seasons pre-season trip? |

It was bound to happen. Let's hope it achieves the promotion objective whilst giving the players a good time, good experience and decent run up to the next campaign. |

It even states in the article that we started that season off with lots of clean sheets. |

That pre-season trip meant we were ready for the Prem season because we hit the ground running. There's perhaps something to be said for a pre-season tournament for that reason. |

  Jolly Jack Tar, are you sea-sick? The last time we went so far away we came back to a Top4 positioning during September. We did well. The publicity and all it's spin-offs - which could well filter down to us, the fan - will be great for the club. |

I actually think a chinese trip is a good thing and great for the brand over there especially as Xtep will promo it heavily and sell a load of shirts = more money for transfers! |

Good point, the new deal will start next season so there will probably be a massive ad campaign for it. Now all we need is that big name signing to front it ;) |

We've been abroad in Austria for the last two seasons at least, not done us too much harm from what I've seen. |

goes with the territory... cracking trip for us hardcore. Plenty of opportunities to eat some strange food and buy dodgy gear and watches. You know when you've arrived in asia when your shirts are available in the night markets next to the gucci and mont blanc pens bring it on.... |

I in my view it can only be a good thing for the team The far east are very passionate when they support a team and if they can make the fan base even bigger and more global.Especially with the kids. I know that the Blues shirts i have given out in the past have been treasured and passed onto other members of the family to wear as they grow out of them. Yes i know Thailand is not Hong Kong but they all watch the games on espn and the Arabic channels, they even have their own version of football focus one of the evenings during the week, thats just Thailand, my friends in Hong Kong have similiar. remeber the bars in the far east also have karaokee like its the latest craze imagine the renditions of "keep right on" :Blues: |

Karaoke originated in the far East, Eric. Most notably Japan and the Phillipines. We, in the West copied them. Real Madrid and Chelsea and Man Utd. Barcelona, LA Galaxy and Bayern Munich - they all visit the Far East every year. They all want to break big in China most of all. None of them have links with a company that has 6,000 retail outlets there, nor involvement in multi-media. We do. And we can't start signing Chinese players can we, 99.99% won't qualify for a work permit will they? But as has been said before, our Academy is ideally placed to complement the Birmingham City schools that are being set up in China. I suppose Jolly Jack would prefer us to spend a fortnight at Southend like West Ham. :D |
