Apparently, they aren't allowed to show anything which would challenge the officials' decisions during the game (ie anything controversial like penalty claims, offsides) Its the same reason the clock stops at 45 and 90 minutes on the screen...same thing applies, as it challenges the discretion of the officials. Talk about pc...another example showing how this country has gone soft.

I know probably the time when you want to see the clock the most is in injury time and you cant!!So the ref dont look stupid!!

I think it should be done independantly anyway by another official like in the rugby league.

Who cares about league 2 results anyway?

In this day and age I'd imagine that most people have mobile internet, look up the scores on there if you are that interested.

I asked that question sometime ago and got an answer I never thought of - gives the option of a better view for those sitting towards the front,

A lot of folk, especially our older supporters, do not have internet access phones.

Fair enough, but what did they do before we were blessed with the big screen? I'd assume they have a radio?

I know the announcer bloke says the championship scores when I listen to him.

Could you honestly see a scenario where someone does not watch the play in front of them but watches a screen in the corner?

That's a little negative, let's enjoy better value.

It's like saying let's not serve beer in the ground because what did we do when we never had a license to sell beer.

I always remember the 72/73 first season of promotion when we played Everton at home. There were Everton fans in the Block A main stand refreshments area absolutely numbstruck that we didn't sell ale. It must have been close to Christmas as they started singing no ale, no ale. (First Noel).

I don't know as I never sit at the front - but I would think it is selective viewing. For example, you are sat at the front of the Railway End and it is a corner up the Tilton - you have the option of a clearer and better view off the screen.

West Ham were screening the game live last night on the Big Screen.

I am 95% sure Spurs do as well.

I think the option of showing the game live depends on whether you're willing to pay sky for their broadcast.....which if the cost of showing it in a pub or club is anything to go by could be tens of thousands for an audience of the size of a football ground. Obviously Batman and Robin (only fools and horses style!) wouldn't want to pay that sort of money, surprise, surprise!
