Why do people suddenly think Eck has a problem with Chucho? He named him in 12 consecutive premiership (just for you beegee) matches. He doesnt have it in for him!

He couldnt drop him whilst we were on an ubeaten run could he!!!

Otherwise he would have!!!!

Just as I thought an away defeat!

Soon as I saw the team, Fadds behind Calamity I thought AM got the side/tactics WRONG again!

Just what does AM see in McFadden playing behind Jerome? Didnt work at Pompey, so what does he do...Yup makes the SAME mistake..

Disapointed in AM AGAIN

We came to a place where Chelsea came a few days ago and scored the same amount as they did at the same venue, the strikers worked hard! Tonight, it was the defence that let us down. If you look further than Jerome for one second you might notice that there are more people making mistakes than he does! Like a broken record mate!

Lukey,

You might be happy with a defeat mate, but I Aint!!

I assure you I am gutted, as I am after every loss!

But your generic blame for a defeat is automatically point a finger at Jerome or 'Calamity'.

You either have a personal vendetta against him for whatever reason, or no F-all about football, because even when he scores twice, he still gets both barrels off ya... Surely it gets boring after abit?

Tonight I blame AM!!!

As well as Calamity!!!!

Come on boys its not over yet!!

Heads up!!

Until the End of the road! Not until 10 mins from time and then concede defeat!

We can still get a point!   :Blues:

We can!

but...

our season does seem like its fizzling out.

im not sure if im being unfair, but its like the players havent been turning up the last few games. Everton and Sunderland could both have buried us before we got foot holds in the game. Blackburn not so much, but still a slow, slow start.

i'd be lying if i said i was confident about the next 5 games...
Arsenal (H)
Liverpool (H)
Man City (A)
Hull (H)
Vile (A)

we could be heading into that game at Villa park on the back of bad form, and we dont want that again

5 points at a push from those

How cr*p would that be - only 50 or so points from the season!

Yes I know it's disappointing after what we thought could happen a few weeks ago - but we'd all have been happy with that at the start of the season wouldn't we.

40 points and survival was the target.

Secondary target, 50 points.

I'll be happy.

When you finish your G C S E 's what do you want to do with your life ? I am curious as you seem to have very little ambition . feed.back

Finished my GCSE's years back.

And whats wrong with being happy with survival and a top half finish?

Or are you one of those deluded fans who think we should get into Europe?

All Blues fans know we're not good enough for Europe, and I seriously think it would be a hinderance to us if we got into it this year.

Some people need a reality check...first season back in the Prem...takeover mid season... history of being a 'yo-yo' team... and some people arent going to be happy with Premier League survival, 40-50 points, and therefore a top half finish!

Dont you find it interesting how all the grumbling moaners seem to be of the older generation of supporters. Would have thought they had been more used to it myself. This is the best position blues have been in for decades bar one season(thanks to the forse) and you would think we were Leeds or something the way they go on.

I actually agree with you mostly.

and obviously before the season everyone saw 17th as a great position.

BUT, after playing so well at stages, its disappointing to see sloppy play of late, seemingly coinciding with us going out of the FA Cup and achieving safety. its like the players are on their summer break at times when defending!

and i just dont think it will be good for morale/attracting new players/getting fans back down St Andrews, if we just fizzle out with a few scraped draws and beating either Burnley or Hull.

and we CANT CANT CANT afford to be so sloppy from crosses and set pieces against the villa, because having stayed for 90 minutes last time to see us mauled 5-1, i dont want to have to see it again!

Bit worried about our leaky defense now. 7 goals in 3 games.

Won't be doing Harts England chances any good.

Yeah its annoying, its frustrating, and that FA Cup defeat was heartbreaking, it really was...and that journey I had home from Portsmouth was the worst journey back after an away game ive had!

None of us want that against the Villa, but I also know that whether we win lose or draw against them, this season has been a success...we've reached our first target of promotion, and exceeded our 40 point target.

It does make me wonder however, that if this is what the moaning is like for 9th place, and top half for most of the season... how the hell would this place be if we were in Portsmouth's position...bottom of the league, points deduction and no real future.

does anyone think our system has finally been worked out?

do we have a system?

As I have always said I have a lot of respect for mcleish in one way (ie him as a person, man management etc) but have always critisised his tactics (or lack thereof) and subs.

Why wait until we are chasing and throw kev on with 2 mins left? Larsson should have been bought off far earlier.

So, just to clear this up, whos the resident target for criticism up to the Arsenal match.

Some say McLeish, some say Jerome?

However, I like McLeish....and I like Jerome... But who is better?

Fahey you mean, not Larsson?

Unless im wrong with the criticism target, and it is infact Larsson now, following a brief 20 minute spell

Not the system, so much

But the manager seems to be swapping things around for every other game now and I must admit, I feel a bit of sympathy for Chucho after an excellent performance at Sunderland

Michel and Gardner must start now

McFadden on the left in place of Fahey and Chucho and Jerome up front

...........................Hart

Carr.......RJ........Dann..........Ridgewell

Gardner........Ferguson......Michel....Mcfadds

...............Jerome............Benitez

Why he keeps tinkering with this line up I don't honestly know

kev came on in the 79th minute for Fahey going 4-3-3 which clearly left us vulnerable to be overrun in midfield. It was a gamble because we were losing the game and trying to salvage something.

Larson and Benitez came on in the 73rd minute he obviously timed it so they would be available for the last 20-25 minutes of the game which is quite reasonable tactics in maintaining an high tempo attacking formation for 90 minutes.

With michel and fergie in the middle we have two players who can hold the ball, slow things down when needed, find a decent pass and help start play. I think they need to be togther.

Going forward gardner helps create so much he has a great brain and can see play delevoping ad building and again can find a nice pass (plus has a great shot)

What we really desperatley need though is a set of wingers who are actual wingers and can take people on and get things moving and decent crosses in. Carr is about the best we have at the mo on the right going forward (I dont like gardner on the wing, he has much more to offer in the middle)

One thing I think no-one has touched on though, where was Michel tonight?

He had a few good stints against S'land, especially for the goal, it seems he was bought in, looked like he was slowly settling, and then not featured tonight at all.

From what I heard on the radio, the man with the surname Mcarthy I think it was covering for Tom Ross or something, he said 'I dont want to sound negative too much, but Bowyer hasnt made a single run into the box and has been largely inneffective for 80 minutes'' or something like that..

Is he fully fit, or did AM just fancy experience in the middle instead?
