Unfortunately I was at work without my phone tonight... the X Factour tour, not the most enjoyable thing in the World. I've just got home to the result and am pretty disappointed but I wanted a fair assessment of the game, everything I've read on here so far indicates that we may as well sell the squad, sack AM and give up altogether. Can anyone actually give me a fair assessment of individual and team performance tonight please?

On reflection my earlier assesment was a litle harsh however i can tell you most peopleon here were disappointed with the manager mor than anyone for dropping michel and particularly chucho. As for the game, we dominated but did not create the same chances with mcfadden up top as when we have chucho, aying that mcfadden scored a great curling free kick. on the whole not the best performance by the majority of players but it was not dreadful either.

Typical Blues.

Started asleep, didn't start playing 'til we were behind. Dominated play without scoring when on top, no penetration upfront after lots of passing in midfield.

Positive enough ?

That's why we lost - sound familiar ?

Fair assessment.

It wasnt the best game quality wise...both sides didnt really have the chance to keep much possession and knock the ball about...and there was quite a few long balls from both meaning Johnson/Dann and Samba/Jones dealt with them quite easily.

Both Blackburn goals (from all accounts) Joe Hart possibly couldve done better with, but cant knock Joe after the way he's been for us this year.

Fahey was non existent on the left wing, but McLeish took far too long to sub him off.

McLeish shouldnt have dropped Chucho from the lineup, and then shouldve brought him on earlier for the aforementioned Fahey, but again, didnt.

Disappointing defeat though nonetheless, especially with Dunn scoring both!

Dont see why McLeish gets it wrong for dropping Benitez when McFaden scored.
When was the last time Benitez scored?

Jerome was a handful up front but the Blackburn defense coped with him quite well.

Bowyer seemed a bit quiet. Gardener was bustling. Defence has lost a bit of confidence conceded second from a corner.

McLeish will be furious.

He'll have to have some robust words with the reminding them that these mistakes cant be made you just get punished. Bowyer will have to have a few worsds with he has had a rest now so should be a bit more ready to go. Maybe since Michel has come in he isnt certain of place any more. He has to compete.

It was a tight game to be fair I put up the stats we played them got level. Dunn had a good night and he was the difference. It was their home turf we must have it drilled in to us we have to fight to get the points they wont be given to us.

We have lost a little bit of that edge that we had people are thinking about their summer holidays a bit. Need to let them know still 7 games to go yet.

Come on Finish the job off lads!!

We have alot of games coming quick so why would he try not to rest some and rotate the squad....

That would be my guess..

We've surely got more chance of beating Blackburn with Chucho, than Arsenal with him? Why not play him tonight and rest him Saturday?

Or, play him in both seeing as he hadnt played before Sunderland in full games for a few weeks.

i agree with you, i was just trying to think why Alex did not start him...Did he have a minor injury?

Only Alex knows why he did not start...
