In January I was one of Big Ecks biggest critics for not buying a striker in the transfer window. But now on reflection and after seeing the load of rubbish Delboy and Rodney panicked brought at Wet Spam. I am man enough to admit he was right and openly apologies. However this apology will be resinded if he does not buy quality in the close season. |

Fair play for someone coming on to admit they were wrong, but we all wouldve liked to see a new striker in, but some people were too disappointed to think anything more to it than "Blues have a lack of ambition" on the closing day of the window. We all wouldve loved Pav to come in, as would the board and McLeish, which is why we tried bloody hard to get him in...until Spurs pulled the rug out from under us at the last minute. Eck, as you say, couldve then just let the board bring in some players they thought would help, and we could just as easily have ended up with players like Mido and Ilan at West Ham, who just arent good enough. Id rather McLeish do what he has said he will, and only sign players he knows a lot about and has done due dilligence on, as opposed to gambles. |

Mezz That Pav deal wasnt ever going to happen 1 too much dosh 2 too much waqges in fact 4X too much! 3 He wanted to go back to Russia if spurs didnt want him 4 Yes he has just had a good spell but `arry boy has him as third/fourth nchoice for most of the season In Alex we trust it will be Kris Boyd all things being equal and Mrs F giving it her blessing!!! Pav was originally £15million at the start of January. Blues (Dunford / Pannu) negotiated that down to £10million by the Friday night before the window closed. That deal was accepted. On Sunday Spurs said it was now £12-13 million - probably expecting a "desperate" agreement by an allegedly rich club. We said No. Spurs had to offload Keane ( part of his "party punishment" no doubt ) and with Crouch also suffering the 'Arry sulks over the party he couldn't get off the bench either. So Pav by default had his way clear. Defoe's injury is now showing the London media what a great motivator 'Arry is - as if he planned it all. :D Pav will go, but if he keeps up his form he will start at £15 mill again. |

Being St Andrews we should already be serving neaps and tatties, along with the beautiful food you mention. |
