David Dunn; Lack of respect

I worked in Sports World in the bullring 4/5 years ago and one day David Dunn walked in and bought 10+ blues shirts which he then took to a children's hospital/hospice (cant remember which one 100%, and he told us that's where he was taking them by the way).

Tell me one thing, does that sound like someone ungrateful for what we did for him? Can you see Lee Bowyer doing that now? (good player but I cant).

With regards to his celebrations I havent seen them yet but with the injury problems he has had his whole career, I do not begrudge him one bit.

Cannot believe I'm reading all this :silence:

OK, Dunny had a swipe at Brady and co when he left but what about Kenny Cunningham, Savage , Upson and a few others ?? and Emile Heskey and Jermaine Pennant couldn't wait to get out the exit door in 2006.....it resembled a stampede

Fat, useless, injury prone fool ???

My Lord !

Yes, injury prone that's true but he was a great player for Blues when he played .....have you forgotten his goal v The Vile already and Stern John would have never have scored that memorable qualiser in the 2-2 draw at VP if Dunny had not come on and turned the match up on it's head with his brief performance as a sub

Short memories, some of you have

Disgraceful.....As pooley rightly said, he did show Blues respect and didn't overdo the celebration on the 1st goal but when you're not renowned for headers and he's gone and beat everyone to the ball to nod home his club's winning goal then who could blame him ?......All he did was hug a couple of fans in the home end

And I've no idead why Hadji Diouf and Salgado were berating him for at the HT whistle.....If I was Allardyce I'd fine the pair of those muppets, what do they contribute to Blackburn exactly ?? Not a lot......they were bang out of order......Dunn was the Man of the Match and as per usual, we cannot find the net enough ourselves or turn territorial advanatage and possession into real goals at the other end ......Get over it

:copno: :copno:

Well said Partisan. I wouldn't like to live next door to some of these people,
Let me remind you all of this, Villa Park 2-0 down, set the stage and enter a certain 'David Dunn' he changed the match.....yes he changed the match, have no doubt, if you disagree just watch the tape.
For that and that alone, I will always like the guy and thank him.
(except for a minute or two last night)

Thats fair enough but for all we know he may have got the money back from the club. And even if he didnt, when youre on silly money like he was 400 quid or so is the equivalent to a double cheeseburger. Now if he paid for the refurbishment of a childrens ward then that would be something special and more praiseworthy.

Thanks for the info and it will help me think a little more highly of him which I am pleased about. However before we crown him King or anything lets remember he probably wasnt playing for us at the time so being an ambassador for the club is the least he could do.

He's done it though and I will say this is good work fair play.

But from what I have see he left BCFC without giving a monkeys ***** really we never really got anything like the best of him.

Okay if he wants to be at Blaickburn fair enough but the club did put his career back on track and I think he owes us a little more respect than can be made up in 2 hour hospital visit, which I believe should be part and parcel of their job anyway.

It's the least they can do they are paid a fortune!!

:Blues:

P.S Why didnt the stupid thick tosser buy them from the club shop?

I didn't used to watch Blues as regularly as I do now, back then. But from the few times I saw him, he was poor.

Also, summed up by the fact he went to Blackburn and lost two stone in weight.

I thought he did well with the respect he showed when he scored the first. He actually held his hands up at least very briefly and made a point of going to the far side of the stand away from the Blues fans before he celebrated at all. And his second--well at the time I had no idea who it was who scored and it was right in front of the home fans so actully why not celebrate. I was just p"ss"ed he had to score against us but thats life. Much more important was that we played all the football. If we can add some pace and finish next season I think we will have another very good season

Also I noticed last night on Sky that Ferguson called him a 'fat' something or other following a tackle he made, Dunn was lying on the floor, made me chuckle **thumbup

I think Ferguson was having a go back at 'Big' Sam. Because as soon as he went in on Dunn you heard some colouful language from Mr. Allardyce.

Yeah lets face it £400+ is peanuts to him but i thought it was a nice gesture that he didn't have to do.

I can definately see why some people will not have liked his celebration but i suppose its a little bit down to how sentimental you are. For me he was a loveable character and my abiding memory of himm was his 'trick' v Villa! aha. If we were fighting relegation I probably would not be a happy bunny, but from our lofty perch I say fair play to the lad.

Class player when fit, unlucky at the Blues ,but he is a Blackburn lad ,
never get this thing about not celebrating, scoring goals is a great feeling and it takes over, could not see much wrong in what David done, pardon the pun, apart from his 2 goals.

I've never really thought much of him anyway. But D D's goal celebrations last night proved what a total a hole he is.

When you score against a club that was as good as blues were to him then I think a bit more restraint would have been the order of the day. The guy showed zero respect imo for a club that has contributed vast amount's of cash into his bank, for very little in return.

Nice one DD, good riddance you overweight pudding.

harsh and probably a typical response from a die-hard fan.

For your information David Dunn has a spot for Birmingham City. I know as I have spoken to him, a couple of years ago. Just like I spoke to Fred Pickering in 2003 when we were up there.

Both of those guys are Blackburn born and bred, loved and played for their local team but have a spot for Blues having played for us as well.

Narrow-minded partisan football fans can be really silly at times. :banghead:

his first was muted. I think you have to give him the benifit of the doubt after grabbing the second

His first was a little muted I agree, but his second was certainly not.

Come on he gave us the best laugh we have had in years when he attempted the back heel and fell over.

That will be replayed for many years and well worth the 4 million fee we paid for him. But I understand the Kebab shop in Knowls takings have been halved since he left.

The ONLY ex-players I can remember not celebrating against us are AJ when he scored for Palace at the Tilton End and was applauded all the way back to the half way line by a good majority of us and James Quinn when he scored for Blackpool in a 1 - 1 draw in 95/96, he held up his hand almost as an apology.

There's nobody else that I can recall.

To be fair to Dunn, his first one he didnt celebrate, but it was only after 5 minutes, at the end our fans were in... he held his hand up and didnt celebrate.

His second was probably following boos and chants about him, he didnt do anything in his celebration that was disrespectful to us, like running around kissing his badge infront of our fans like Savage did when he scored at St Andrews for Blackburn.

Didn't DJ Campbell score against us for Blackpool and not celebrate? I hope i'm not making that up!

Let's hope Heskey does not celebrate on April 25th !!

:banghead:

Of course I mean let's hope he doesn't score

And we need to keep Gabon-Lamour off the scoresheet too.......he's scored against us in the last 3 derbies

What an absolute load of tripe.

Are you telling me that if you was a Birmingham City fan and you just scored the winner against Blackburn Rovers (who you spent a couple of years at) you would not celebrate.. yeah right.

The last game of the season in 2008 he clapped the Kop Corner when leaving the field 5 minutes before kick off and he just got dogs abuse off the fans there.

The same thing happened when Blackburn came to St Andrews this season from the Tilton. It works both ways.

As for Dunn being useless.. i'm sure you wasnt saying that when he scored at Vile Park (if you was there that is).

His Mrs was quality too, the Emmerdale bint :D
