I'm quite enjoying the TV series but was wondering if anyone here had read the book by Robert J Sawyer that this is based upon ?

And was it any good ?, is there much of a difference between the TV series and the book ? please no spoilers though :)

Thinking of getting the book but at the same time I dont wish to ruin my enjoyment of the TV series

thanks in advance

The novel is set in a fictionalized and overly futuristic year 2009. At CERN, the Large Hadron Collider accelerator is performing a run to search for the Higgs boson. The experiment has a unique side effect: the entire human race loses consciousness for about two minutes. During that time, nearly everyone sees themselves in the future (by about 21 years).

Sounds pretty similar, not sure of the ending of it though!

Love the show - had missed it not being on for the last few months.

Not sure about the book - but I don't think it'd be that similar. The show is made by the same blokes who brought us Lost - so they probably have gone wild on the detail and story line!

The book is very different to the series and its hero is Lloyd Simco the physicist not the FBI agent played by Joseph Fiennes. Does anyone else find Dominic Monaghan as the evil scientist Simon totally miscast and frankly unbelieveable in the role?

having watched Episode 12 it does seem like they have changed how his character is viewed.
I had trouble myself seeing him as a believable baddie, however it now points to him being used as a pawn with his kid sister as the bait to make him do his stuff
