Strikers For Next Season

I dont think we'll sign chucho. Phillips will be out, and in my opinion o'connor isn't up to it. Mcfadden isn't an out and out forward. Taking this into consideration, we only have Jerome. I know we're likely to sign Boyd, but I think he'll be a direct replacement for Phillips on the bench, and again dont think he is quite good enough to start games in this league.

Basically we need to sign at least 3 strikers next season. Now I dont think we should go mental and spend loads on one striker like pavly or Babel, as in my opinion, if we keep Jerome fully fit, he'll score 15 plus goals comfortably next season. The question is, with the amount of strengthening needed throughout the squad, will the funds be there to sign 3 strikers, 2 wingers, and a couple of full backs, and a keeper, (hopefully hart on loan) which is what I feel we need desperatley next season, other wise we will be found out.

But as I have initially said we're in desperate need for forwards, we only have Jerome, and this is worrying because strikers cost more money than any other position. Realistically we're going to have to spend 40 million at least, because weve massively overachieved this season, and are older players will be a year older next season!! So the question remains are we going to be able to avoid second season syndrome, because the only way we're going to be able to is by strengthening substantailly.

I keep hearing about this over-achieving rubbish (from Big Eck as well) and the opinion that McFadden isn't a proper forward! :banghead:

He is a proven Striker and he has responded well to McLeish's call for him to recature to his Motherwell form! He's had many on-target shots and very close strikes on goal in recent weeks that suggests he could achieve a 1:2 strike ratio IMO.

I think Kris Boyd would be an excellent replacement for KP who wants to end his career with us!

The transfer fee for Chucho Benitez has to be re-negociated relative to his poor goal tally at the end of this season, but if we loose him we'll miss his dynamic capacities in the last third and his brilliant contribution of assists, which IMO is worthy enough to keep him.

If he does move elsewhere in the PL he will be a star wherever he ends up (not West Ham Please!) :banghead: We all wanted him to reach his apex this season but it seem that the Ecuadorian needs a second season to find his Premier League performance! IT IS YET TO COME IMO! **thumbup

To my mind Blues have under-achieved this season particularly in the Striker area, it's our defense that given us such a great return to the Prem which at a quality level is certainly "no" over-achievement!

Kris Boyd and at least one other quality striker will do the job!

NO BOUT A DOUBT IT! :LMAO:

Come on, don't player hate.

If he scores over 10 goals this season he would have done a really good job. His work rate is brilliant. If he was any better he would be playing for someone else!

(Lets not turn this into another CJ post)

Who was that Argentinian guy that claimed that he was joining in the last transfer window? Boselli?

I'm happy with Jerome and Benitez but I'd like to see two good strikers join, with Jervis bubbling under.

Is Boyd a free? then it would be a good replacement for Phillips.
We must keep Benitez - for the reasons given.
We will keep Jerome
So all we need is a Pav-type striker.

Out of all the players you seem to criticise, you slag jerome off!!! When he has been and is our best forward this season. In fact if we didnt have him we'd be in the relegation zone. Im going to say it again 1 in less than every 3 games hes scored in................

Next season he'll be banging them in. and i predict he'sll bag close to 20 goals once we get some more creative players in. And hes i in 3 ratio can back that up. If im right your going to be gutted, because you are one of the fans that HATE to see Jerome play well, and ignore it when he does, purely because you sont like to admit you're wrong!!

Against Everton and Sunderland jerome was class. he may have missed one sitter, but again he was our best player!!

Anyway, what strikers would you like in to support cam up front??? Or would you be happier with GOC and Phillips starting up front, because i do recall you saying at the start of the season you would!! :LMAO:

Chucho and a new striker to play alongside him....

With a decent strike partner chucho would be sensational!!!!!!

Give me chucho to Jerome any day..
