mmm

I am a fan of McLeish and think our achievements this season have been better than I thought they would be ( over the moon at times to be frank) but I have to admit to being a little disappointed with his view of the remainder of the season and next season :

Quote : 'whatever happens, it has been a fantastic season for us and we won't go into the summer upset if the next seven games don't go for us. We'll go into the summer looking to refresh and try to emulate or better what we have done this season'

Personally speaking I would be upset if all seven of these games do not 'go for us' just as I will be upset if we only try to emulate what we have achieved this season - call me old fashioned but give someone an excuse to slacken off and a percentage of them will do ( some who I will not name don't even need the excuse). I believe we should be running out of the tunnel set to win every game we play and we should be looking at our end result this season being the minimum we should expect to achieve next season not trying to emulate what we have achieved especially if we don't get anything from the next 7 games for god sake!

Come on McLeish we should be looking to gain at least 7 points from the remainder of the season and finish as high as possible next season - as someone once said ' only as high as I reach can I grow, only as far as I seek can I go, only as deep as I look can I see, only as much as I dream can I be' :Blues:

He has already set a target for the team in terms of points, and we are 6 adrift of it at the moment :D

If we can do next season, with a few younger legs, what we have done this season, I will be happy. It is all about building and Alex is the type of manager to do that carefully. The second season is very crucial to promoted teams that survive.

Don't lets run before we can walk.

Agree a little but we have been walking for a long long time, I want this board to put the money where there mouth is this summer and expect us to at least break out into a trot,

I would EXPECT us to get 6 points from the remaining games to reach that newer target. If we don't reach it it will be a disappointing 'end' to the season.

I think you underestimate the man if you believe that McLeish will allow the players to slacken off over the remaining seven games.

This board has not yet had one season, and you say we have been walking for a long long time?

How is it this board's fault? Don't know if you've noticed guest, but in this board's first full season we've run faster and longer than any of the previous campaigns.

And whats this about money? Which Premier teams spent more than us in this boards only transfer window ? Are you one of those people who wanted to spend £40 million on anyone just to prove we had it? :boohoo:

I totally agree with this i have backed McLeish through and through but I can't agree with the tripe that has been put up on the on website.

I have got to credit where credit is due I am sure he has worked his ******* off as and so has all the team. He is due a rest in the summer. I hope this sounds a lot worse than it is and Im sure they will be doing the same professional job as always. But I dont think it comes across as good PR at all.

It sounds like we have come up from the championship to be bricking ourselves againt next season rather than push on. How is this going to improve the BCFC brand get old and new fans coming down St Andys.

It's just saying "same old same old" a 1 off season then back to relegation dogfight.

We have to fundementally change for the better. Have good passing attacking football at St Andrews. Be top dogs over Villa. We can't achieve it overnight but McLeish has built a good platform and we have something to aim for.

For the first time I have heard him talking negatively and with limitations.
I thought he and the board were actually going to take us some where.

Now Im wondering what the f is he talking about it doesnt matter if the rest of the games go against us. It "f" in well does to us fans you know.
