Try a system restore from the last time you know it was working. Should do the trick, just sounds like you've lost a file or something.

Refusing to do a system restore, says there is an error, scanned for virus, all clear.
Apart from what Chelms said, kicking the damm thing,
but everything works fine on another browser.

My also stopped working a few months ago and Uninstall and re-install?

But i completly uninstalled everything and started from scratch....it solved more than just the explorer error...I am back to full speed again...to be honest i am going to do this to my computer more often...it was like having a new one all over again..

...............Alternatively, instead of trying to uninstall, then reinstall, try to upgrade to the latest version (presuming you're not already using it).

Sometimes programs "don't like" being un-installed, but are happy to be upgraded :)

(as a second alternative, you could always just use another browser? )

There are a few nasty virus and spyware about, malwarebytes would not run on mine except in safe mode, i have every program for removing such things and none of them could remove it....... most advanced virus turn off system restore and also the task manager as well as other things.... Do me a favour and install spybot search and destroy and if it will not run then you have a virus, just to add most of my anti malware and rootkit programs never even detected it and the ones that did could not remove it.
