There were 3 Arsenal fans in the Tilton who applauded their goal. Much to the home fans annoyance. When they were being led out some Silly in Block 12 decided to spit at them and managed to hit my wife.
But eh she's only been going St.Andrews for 38 years so I suppose she deserved it.

unfortunately we, like most clubs, have supporters who simply cannot control their behaviour.
i've not a problem with opposition fans in our end so long as they behave and applauding a goal doesn't justify eviction, in my book. i do think they should have better thought where they sat though as the Tilton isn't the end i would advise them to sit, being opposition supporters.

as for the spitting, it's a pity the person spitting wasn't evicted - for life - too!

Same thing happened last time Liverpool was a St Andrews and we drew 2-2.
One of them was about 8 months pregnant. Some Lemon decided he was going to have a go at her and I had to step in to protect her.

Im normally the one to shy away from agro but a pregnant lady is a no-no.

For both our sakes Im glad he saw sense and backed off.

But to any potential away fans thinking of attending. Please keep out of the
Tilton Road end.

In no way, shape or form am I condoning any sort of hositility, and there is no reason why your wife should have been dragged into it, let alone spat at, but as far as the whole away fans in the home end thing goes, if you cheer for your team in an opposing end then you are plain and simple asking for aggro, arent ya? I wouldnt dream of doing it no matter how desperate I was to see the Blues play away, so they cant really argue with being asked to leave, thats the sort of thing you have to expect if you're doing something like that.

Four Arsenal fans were lead out of block 30 in the Kop. The celebrating of the goal and the hand slaps all round kind of gave them away and the animosity that they caused meant that when the stewards did evict them it was more for their safety than that of the home supporters. Two of them took great pleasure in goading the home fans on the way out just as they walked past me. I was hoping that they exited to hear the home crowd roars and the potential end of yet another title bid for Arsenal.

I hate it when opposition fans sit in the home end if they make themselves known and go on a wind up spree.

I don't mind if they act neutral and respect the fact they are surrounded by opposition fans. I have sat in the wrong end once at sunderland pompey and sunderland won 2-0. i didn't cheer when sunderland scored, just rubbed my mates nose in it when we got out the ground.

I was in the Gill Merrick upper and all game all i heard behind me was "come on fabregas" in french. When Aresnal scored about 3 away fans were applauding and shouting with excitement. The stewards said if they did this again they would be ejected.

I was so wound up but when super Kev got the equaliser i turned round to the three of them and shouted as loud as I think i ever have and waived my scarf in there direction.

It was pure magic!!!!!!

Here's my opinion on the matter (and therefore the correct opinion):

When it's let's say an Arsenal fan in the home crowd but WITH MATES, then that's okay. We had the same situation with Everton two weeks ago.

If it was Cockney Arsenal fans, then I'd say they're a bit stupid for sitting in the home crowd (especially the Tilton) but at least I can understand that they're desperate to get to see their team. And if WE can't sell out, then they have every right to take advantage.

If it's foreigners, then perhaps they come from a country where fans CAN sit together, so therefore they just don't know any better.

But the ones I've got NO time for, possibly this will include people that were ejected/targetted, are BRUMMIE Arsenal fans.

Basically as far as I see it, these people have chosen to betray their local team(s) to just support one of the big four, and probably the more fashionable of the big four, but because they're not real fans of Arsenal like Cockney ones, they never go to games, they can't get a ticket with the Arsenal fans, they know nothing about football or going to a football match, so they sit with Blues (or whoever) fans and just act how they want. They deserve trouble in my opinion.

Why should anyone be ejected for applauding a goal? I appreciate any well taken goal and applaud loudly. I applauded Nasri's goal yesterday while cursing our defence for not closing him down.

They actually don't have any right to buy tickets - the home end is for home supporters only... away supporters in home end is classed as trespass and the stewards should remove them.

he was from block 12 and had celebrated when they scored....

the stewards evicted him for his own safety but someone must have smacked him one on the way out...

i was sitting in b38, and there was a lad sittin next to me, who was an arsenal lad.

I saw him clench his fists and shake in his seat when arsenal scored, and after clapped every time they made a good move.

Was hilarious when we scored, and saw him sitting there, with us all jumping around and the man infront of me, shouting rude words which i cannot put up here, and the fact that he was an arsenal fan included!

I dunno if anyone up in the tilton end noticed, that we kept celebrating the goal for the next 4 mins!

Then Full time, and a little rendition of cheerio, then waving as we left the ground. Then i saw a few lads in fron of me trying to jump over, and at least onto the dividers between the home and away fans, shouting more abuse.

....I think they were a little rattled!

TBF, I have been at Highbury in Cup years back. rocked up 15 minutes late & sat in the North Bank.

Tony Hey scored & I nearly hit the ceiling, TBF me & my mate were with two Gooner chicks, But luckily half the stand jumped up too, so not a fat lot the Arsenal fans could do. I simply forgot where I was & couldn't get a ticket in the clock end blues section.

We took em to extra time & lost 4-1 (bloody Luis Boa Morte) But it did make my missus at the time chuckle that we didn't give a damn about jumping up in the Home end.

We made it out alive & minus an gob or other bodily fluid on us too!!

I know what you're saying but my point is that if we can't sell out 25 or 26,000 tickets for a game against possibly the best team in the country, then none of us can really moan if 'guests' try to buy up the tickets that remain.

Whether they were Cockneys or Judases, those Arsenal fans should never have been able to get a look in.

Agreed.

I could never complain about away fans in our end because I have to do the same myself from time to time. However common sense and a knowledge of the ground determines where to sit though. If I was an away fan doing it at St Andrews then the OG is the place to do it. The fact they were in the Tilton and were not provocotive tells me they were "casual" Arsenal fans, they may even have been neutral.

As for spitting in the face, I am with Penguin on that one. Ban for life - it hit a middle-aged woman in the face for God sake.

I sat in the baggies end a few years ago in the halfords lane due to i couldnt get a ticket in the away end... Baggies went 1 nill up and i had to stand and clap...

Heskey then went up the other end seconds later and hit the post 4 of us all jumped up as you do lol and then realised where we was. Accordingly we sat back down and all the old boys in the halfords lane where just laughing.

We then just had the banter with them and they were fine with us. Think we went on to lose 2 nill though so we didnt have anything to shout about lol

There was a lad in the main Stand, who had his coat done up tight, the only problem was his arsenal shirt was hanging out the back, an old boy behind him pointed it out, it was quickly tucked away, he was a good as gold and made no noise or celebration, just sat on his hands.
