wiki is as useful as a chocolate teapot tho sometimes. I could go in and change it too 300 right now it would take about 20 seconds.

It was definitely officially his 250th goal. He mentioned it on Super Sunday and had interviews with the media after the game.

He also said he was unaware of it till Motty told him so.

someone go on wiki and put in he scored 500 prem goals.

we can then sell him at end of next season for £50m.

(im sure some clubs use wiki to scout new players!)

According to out very own website if you add up his goals before this season it totals 246, yesterday would have been his 4th of the season totaling 250 **thumbup http://www.bcfc.com/page/ProfilesDetail/0,...12~6025,00.html

Well done super Kev

It's been on bbc pre match statistics since the Wolves game as well that he needs to score 1 more to reach 250... I've been willing it to happen every week :banner:

And wiki says 250th goal of his career... I should know, I edited it when he scored :D

What is Euro/other - more specifically other?

That is probably where the anomaly is.

motsons commentary really annoyed me sat night... he kept saying that it was was blues players making fouls on arsenal players even when the foul was given to us... for example diaby foul on bowyer (I think) when he had a goal dis allowed for a foul... motty said in his over excited way "Oh and thats Bowyer in on Diaby there" no motty it was the other way round!!! he did that about 4 or 5 times!!!

Ye he did it for 'Gardner makes a late challenge on Denilson' when Denilson fouled Gardner.

I was at the game, couldn't believe Motsons foolish biased commentary, probably fueled by Wengers pre-match rant about supposed "tough tackling"

Motson is way over the hill and getting more annoying each game.

Dunno without checking. Certainly scored in Uefa Cup for Southampton and 3 for Albion and 2 for Sunderland in the Play-offs(!).

Motson is losing it now. He used to be a good commentator but now all he seems interested in is giving us a load of stats. If you notice he doesn't get any of the big games so I think the BBC have sussed him.

He doesn't get the big games as he stood down as the chief commentator a couple of years ago. I think he's winding down for retirement.

John Motson is an icon and as such exempt from any criticism if motty says its 250 its 250 end of! His commentary was his usual spellbindingly brilliant from Hereford V Newcastle 1973? to the present day his enthusiasm has won over millions of followers to the beautifull game.
Up there with the real legends! Clough, Shankley et al

I agree he's losing it, it takes him about 4 views of replays to actually see what happens... I always remember when Henry scored a backheel against Charlton and after seeing it about 5 times he still wasn't sure how it went in...

I dont like ay commentators...but the worst was the woman (whos name I dont know) who was on motd - she exuded false enthusiasm and sounded like she didnt have a clue.

The only person I dont mind out of all of them is lee dixon who seems like a top chap. And Martin Keown has been on motd2 a few times and again speaks sense...

...I cant even stand the presenters like richard whats-his-face on sky (who has presented footie programmes on there since 1940 it seems like) and lineker, they annoy the hell out of me, jeff too.

Sounds like the typical girl down at the football then.

Sorry girls

Gardner and denilson had a bit of brazilian love as well. Not nice to watch lads, thats the stuff u do with franck quedrue.

(i cant say what quedrue and a few other players did, but it regards men, and the internet)

(work it out from there)

I wouldnt take Wikipedia to seriously as others have said you can just go on there and change it!!

I also wouldnt take John Motson as seriously as previous....the last few years he has really showed his age, gets so much wrong. Way down the pecking order for BBC.
It is a shame as although he was never exactly an expert, his knowledge for stats was always second to none, maybe it might be time for him to step down. Only recently i seen him in a hotel sat at a table talking to himself!!

Come on are you two serious?

Motson may be an icon but that doesn't make him a legend alongside two of the greatest managers to have managed in the English game. And as for saying it will be a sad day, give me a break. What a load of tosh.

Icons are there to be shot and quite often are from their Eastern Orthodox/Catholic conception to the modern day slur and misinterpretation of what the word means and should refer to.

When Motson does retire we'll have the same pageantry that we have with most long serving members of an organisation albeit in the BBC he'll get an hour long special late at night on BBC1. But he won't be mourned and indeed why should he?

I agree, dixon and keown are pundits though not commentators. I couldnt believe the voice that came out of Keowns mouth the first time I heard him speak

Motty has long since lost it. The best commentators are Andy Gray and Martin Tyler and then theres some miserable scottish one that works for ITV that I like.

The thing that annoys me about match of the day is that it is clearly recorded over the top of the footage after they know what is going to happen, like if a defender is going to score from a corner they will say for example, 'Oh Roger Johnson is up from the back, yet to score for birmingham and ....GOAL thats roger johnsons first goal for birmingham'.

250...251...252 whatever the amount, fact is thats a great achievement. Shame people have to get old LOL.....

Going back to Motty, don't like his commentary very much. Andy Gray, Martin Tyler are good. Would be good to see Jeff Stelling commentate a game. Always like him on Soccer Saturday etc... Especially the grief he gets being a Hartlepool fan!
