Yep, it definitely counts as Brum. I live directly inbetween Villa Park and the Hawthorns, walking distance from both {*shudder*} and everyone round here says they're from Brum so the Baggies {providing they stay up} will be one too. Thinking about it if we widen it a bit to be the West Midlands area rather than just Birmingham you could include Wolves and at a push Stoke in that {I know Stoke's in Stafford, that's why I said at a push} Good sign of things to come. Especially if Notts Forest come up as well. Although personally I'm routing for Cardiff myself! And if not Swansea. |

I was refferring top the future top 9 teams in the prem.....I know we are not classed as a big club and rightly so...but i was seeing if anyone though that these clubs would be the ones leading the way in the future...All big City clubs...Newcastle and leeds should be there as well really...but through bad management they are not... **thumbup |

Baggies have always been considered the "third" Birmingham club purely from a geographical perspective and the fact some of their support is drawn from the city, particularly areas like Bearwood, Handsworth and Great Barr.....The Hawthorns is only three and a half miles from Villa Park and their ground is roughly one hundred yards from the City boundary But they are also very much proud to a Black Country club and their first rivalry will always be with Wolves before either of Blues or Villa West Bromwich falls under the Sandwell Metro Council which is not Brum at all It's like saying Solihull is part of Brum.......Most folks I know who live in the Borough of Solihull will bluntly tell you it's is not Birmingham at all Parts of Warwickshire and Worcestershire have 'B' postcodes as well.......That's purely from a Royal Mail standpoint and ease of delivering letters certainly doesn't designate being a suburb of Birmingham |

Top 10 largest cities in England (population).....in the UK , Glasgow and Edinburgh would fit into 3 and 7 respectively 1 - London 2 - Birmingham 3 - Liverpool 4 - Leeds 5 - Sheffield 6 - Bristol 7 - Manchester 8 - Leicester 9 - Coventry 10 - Hull Both Sheffield clubs are currently absent as well as are Leeds United, Coventry City and Leicester City Hull City could go down Port Vale (the other team in Stoke on Trent) have never ever been in the top flight of English football Bristol clubs have rarely been in the top flight especially over the last 40 years and in fact Rovers have never appeared in the top league either And both Notts County and Forest have been out of the top reaches for quite some time now Catchment area doesn't always make a city dominant even with 2 teams....and don't forget there are some poorly supported teams in London too......notably Millwall, Fulham, QPR and Crystal Palace In all honesty 2 or 3 London clubs and the North West quartet of Liverpool, Everton , Man Utd and Man City have ruled the roost in recent decades Always nice to see a team like Ipswich or Forest rise to dominance though |

I see the point you're making, mate but as I said, Leeds, Sheffield and Bristol all have larger populations within their city boundaries than Manchester Have you met many United fans actually from Manchester ??  |

They are like hens teeth... :D Appart from Leeds i would not say the others would get glory hunters following them....For us to really bridge the gap we need to win something and win more than once as well, but once would do for now.... I wonder if we have won any new fans this season for what we have done...i wonder what % of fans we have don't come from Birmingham....2%? it is a good gage on how we are doing outside our blinkered eyes...so to speak.. It really cocerns me how few actually go to our games...this season it is made up of a larger away fan following... :( |

My housemate's from Solihull and she considers herself from Brum, unfortunately she's a Villa fan. She's been surprisingly absent for the last couple of days... strange! Also my Nan is from West Brom and is a mad Baggies fan, but if she's asked she says she's from Birmingham as well... I suppose it all depends on your perspective! I'm from Great Barr, but the part that comes under Sandwell council but I still consider myself a proud Brummie!!! I agree about the Wolves v Baggies thing though, although part of me thinks that could also partially be to do with the Villa Blues rivalry... where's Maulley when you need him!?!? :bluzz: |

I was born in the old childrens hospital in the centre of brum then moved to Lichfield (Vile Catchment area) :-( Then moved to Tamworth, Burton, Whittington then finally good ol' Redditch (Bluenose catchment area) :-) Have worked in West Brom for 20 years though.... the 'B' codes there mean 'Black Country' LMAO :Blues: Daz |

I think it'll be good for some Welsh teams to get in, hopefully more people will start to care about football and not just the Rugger down here! ...Plus I might be able to get to another game! :Blues: Swansea I'll give you, but what's wrong with the Bluebirds? |

I wouldn't mind Cardiff being in the prem, it'd mean I could get to atleast one away Blues game! |
