I think it's common knowledge that Doyle wants away next season if Maik signs on for another year or two so that he can get first team football.

Alex has said that he needs 3 decent keepers for the Prem so I reckon the rumours about Schmiechel could well be true -Schmiechel as a replacement for Doyle.

IMO i think that we should concentrate on keeping hart and should be willing to pay whatever for him!!! He has won us at least 10 points this season and this is what you want from a keeper, also he is very young and is one of the best shot-stoppers in england. Also seems to have a good relationship with the back 4 which is also a great bonus!

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has been told he must wait until the close season to see if he can sign Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart on loan for a second season.

Hart has been in outstanding form since his temporary switch from Eastlands and emerged as a strong contender to be part of England's World Cup squad.

McLeish is keen to retain Hart's services for another 12 months and ideally would like to get approval from Roberto Mancini sooner rather than later.

But the former Scotland boss has been told he must hold fire until the summer.

McLeish told Press Association Sport: "City are not going to make any decisions regarding Joe until the summer. They have confirmed that to us now.

"We would like to sign Joe for another season. The keeping role is massively important and that's why I'd like to get City's nod of approval. That would help us in terms of us knowing what we are doing but there will be no news until the summer."

IMHO I think Man City will either play Hart next season, sell him and cash in or lend him out to another club to break his allegiance to Blues. This could cause him to put his notice in and prompt Blues to have to pay top dollar for him.

I saw Kasper Schmeichel at Crewe Alex a couple of weeks ago, and sadly he's turned into a goalkeeping basket-case. Mind you, with the inept Notts County's back four as your only cover any keeper would become flakey after half a season.

A better bet might be Marten Stekelenburg, he's the current Dutch national goaly who is looking to move to a more glamorous league than the Eredivisie.

It will be David James at pompy on a free.
Maik Taylor should be playing some games before Hart goes to get match fit.

However good Joe has been he has to be balanced with our future and I seriously don't think Jack Butland will sit around for 10 years as number two.

So I would go for an experienced keeper who will give us a few good years and allow Jack to feed into the senior squad, as the plan.

It's really upto Joe, not blues. If he wants to stay here let him apply for a transfer and force Man City's hand.If Man City really go for Italy's keeper then Joe knows he has another couple of years to wait at Man City before regular play.

It really is upto Joe, he knows blues want him.

Really hope not... don't see a huge amount of difference between Taylor and James to be honest.

Say hypothetically if it came down to a choice between Hart for another season on loan OR Rob Green permanently from West Ham what would you choose?

As much as it pains me to say it I'd have to choose Green. I definitely rate Hart more as a keeper but think we need to sort something out for slightly longer term. I know Butland has been mentioned a few times, but he's only 17 now, Hart's 22 and still considered a very young player. That's a gap of 5 years we have to fill...
