I did a calculaton of how much it would be for 30,000 Blues fans to buy the club at 80,000000. Turned out to be 2666.

It occurred to me it isnt actually that much sort of a holiday of a life time amount. If someone could guarentee me Blues would win FA cup or league over a season for a one off I would pay that. For 80m we could 3 top class players.

I know they couldnt guarantee it but they could potentially look into some form of "elite" supporters - Blue Knights.

I mean even 5000 would bring 14m into the club. Maybe making them season ticket holders for 5 years and the money being spent on players..

I know people would talk about the prawn sandwich brigade and all this nonsense but if it brings revenue into the club.

It may have been thought of before.

Very strange.....only last night i was thinking the same thing.
I read an article on Rangers trying to do something similar to the likes of Barca and thought maybe we could do it.
Would be great but couldnt see it happening, we havnt even got 30,000 fans prepared to pay between £20 and £40 to go to a home game so cant see that number or more paying over 2 grand!!

That £80million price is very inflated as well. Think the club was valued at around 22p a share, CY bought the 1st lot for around 36p then as Sullivan had him in a corner pushed it up to £1 a share.

If we buy the club for £80 million where is the £80 million to buy the 3 world class players coming from?

if we arranged a fund raising day like comic releif but on a smaller scale we could raise a lot of money for our club...and help get some players in etc.....every bit helps.. **thumbup

Buying the club's the cheap bit.
It's funding it's day to day running and growth that costs.

Nice idea but nothing is guaranteed in football, look at Man City and how much they've spent.

£2666 would be alot of money to stump up too. In todays world where everyone is having to be a bit tighter with money etc. 30,000 Blues fans.. there are only 13,000 season ticket holders who have a fair amount to stump up one large sum in the summer.. the rest of us have to pay per game.. so £2666 would be alot to stump up.. especially those that go with families.

family of 4 would be £12000.

Nice thought and idea though.

The 80 mill wouldnt even pay cy back, now as he is a business man we assume he is either in this for the long term or would settle for a quick 20 mill profit, so that pushes the 80 up to 100, now if you are saying that you think there are 25,000 ionvestors out there who would put £4000 into the club and only want minimal dividends back for four or five years then you do move in exalted circles.
Also what about the investment that would be expected that must be at least 40 mill otherwise Cy would still be a better option!
I would consider it by the way so only another 24998 to attract. Go top it mate!!

Jamie Why do you pay each game that is really dumb, share a season ticket with someone. I have four mates from nuneaton who do that with two books, they would be a £100 up on you throughout the year!

I'm a season ticket holder mate... about 15 years now for my sins.

Just worded it badly my friend.

Actually sort of used to do that when I worked every other weekend I used to lend it out so it got used and they would usually slip me a tenner for a drink for the next time I go.

Out of work at the moment but i'll still get one. Hoping the damage isnt going to be too bad.

Haha, I remember the original buy a player fund under Ron Saunders, I think. We collected a whole £10k and bought Harry Roberts. I met him about 7 years ago and asked him for my fiver back. Great bloke!

An attempt to buy out the club would suggest that we're unhappy with the current owners. I haven't seen them do a lot wrong yet.

Glad to hear it Jamie (bout you having season ticket not out of work) I am ok for dosh but I certainly wouldnt shell out 40 notes to go to a match. My S/t works out at just over £26 per match. Top have your own seat and sit with the same crowd is imho great value for money!

More common sense.

Our wage bill in the Championship was £22million, and not everyone was on Premiership wages.

The average wage for a Premiership player is now £28,000 a week. So, if all our squad were on the average wage - where does the money come from to pay the wage bill over the season?

You've bought the club, so how far does the TV money go? You will not have any of the revenue streams already set up and still coming on board that Carson has organised. So how do you pay the wages?

A quaint and novel idea for a slow Thursday afternoon Tony, but nothing more.

It's an interesting question if not the most practical as to why and how clubs supporters can buy out their club. It has happened at lower league level with Ebbsfleet being an obvious example of a BSQP club that have done it.

Take Crystal Palace for example. They are a club with a fairly large local area around them albeit that they do have the brighter London lights that will attract fans from them. But as they are in financial problems, not knowing the extent of them though, they could do something similar with the numbers needed and the amounts likely to be lower.

You'd simply run it as business and you wouldn't pay £28k pw average if your revenue didn't allow it. I think the term 'running it as a business' is a forgotten one in football and in some respects it's the biggest reason why those that haven't are struggling so much now.

I am not saying Tonys idea is unworkable the Tv money next year comes to 40 mill our wage bill is significantly lower than than that so it could be done its the 30,000 knights that are the problemo!

Im wasnt actually thinking of buying the club to be honest just saying that in theory if we all stumped up the case ( and yes I know some cant)
we could get the players in who mght be able to win us that trophy.

If some one told me pay 2k and you can watch your team all season and see them hold the FA Cup in May and the name Birmingham City witll be etched on that trphy for ever. I would pay the price of a trip to the World Cup.

What can I say it's love.

Have I got this right ?

We all buy a share, or shares, and we vote for a board or committee to run blues as a business. We rely on SKY money and whatever other income stream we can develop and we have elections for the board and the President - every year, two years, five years?

Will we go the Real Madrid way when the current President was last in charge and promised the fans in his manifesto the likes of Figo and Zidane?
He delivered there, but then Real had to sell off their prime city property. The Training ground and everything else to pay for the debts he incurred.
Now he's back for Superstars Part Two and they are already out of the European Cup.

Will we have elections like that where the man with the biggest promises and mouth wins and runs the club ?
