My Pops is 50 in 2 weeks time and havent got a clue what to get him.

I had planned on getting him a Birmingham City shirt framed with his name and '50' on the back but typical Birmingham City have ran out of home shirts. We've got away shirts available but I dont think it would look the same in black.

Anyhow, i'm really struggling for ideas of what I could get him and would like to get him something special as its a big landmark.

Anyone got any good ideas you could share... or maybe what you got your parents for his 50th? Seen anything about online that you think could be a good idea?

Thanks in advance.

For my dads 60th we bought him a ticket in the club class, we had a meal before the match and for a supsrise the girl who was co-ordinating everything asked him if he wanted to lead the team out with the sponsors, It was a great day.

For my Dad's I bought him a helicopter flying lesson - was expensive mind and nothing to do with Blues (unless you can get them to fly over SA's) - but he thoroughly enjoyed it when his legs had stopped wobbling....

If you talk to the club they will have shirts that they keep for promotional purposes...also you could have his name on the paving outside the kop entrance ..just a thought.

Its ashame I hadnt thought of that a while ago as doubt I would get anything to show him in time for April 14th.

thanks for the ideas guys. think a helecopter ride is a little far fetched for him. shame David Gold wasnt still around could of asked for a ride

If hes only 50, maybe he could have a run out in centre midfield.

my best mate and a few others chipped in to pay for me to go on a vip experience for a match for my 30th... I wasn't sure it was for me, but after going on it I can say it was great and that I am now trying extra hard to win the lottery so I can buy a season ticket in the directors bit (not a box)!! make sure you go for the offer that allows you to go on a tour of the ground etc... if you are there early enough they take you to the changing room and you might bump in to big eck in the managers room... top bloke!!

Why not get the shirt from the year he was born? Most of those online stores for old shirts would have them I think

I am sure your old man would like one of the blue shirts with a white v and a lace up collar. A bit different to the modern designs. If you have a brick layed outside the main reception, you also have one to keep yourself. Best of luck. Let us know what you decided to do. :applause:

A good idea is www.gonedigging.com, you can get Newspaper headlines on various Blues games season by season, I got headlines from 1931 cup final, 56, cup final, the Roma and Barcelona headlines from the fairs cup, league cup win over the Vile, also had the Leyland Daf final, Auto windscreens final up to the current day. All presented in a folder and yoiu can get it personalised, fab gift from days gone by
