"I recently went to watch him playing for Birmingham's reserves in a centre-back partnership with Frank Queudrue. He was actually organising Frank Queudrue so just by looking at that you can tell that he certainly takes things on board very quickly. He's a footballing centre-back, but he's like a man mountain and has really pushed on." Sounds good!!! |

Welcome aboard Graham. 16 year olds have broken through before so don't think you're too young. |

I'm assuming you mean Lincoln. The Blues also have the same problem. We have one or two Academy lads who look promising but it's really difficult to bring them into a team playing in the Premier League. |

I do believe that Alex will slowly blood the youngsters into our first team squad. He has done more in his short time than Bruce has done in all his years with us. More youngsters are now training with our first team and being loaned out to gain valuable experience, which is the best approach. If one of our youngsters goes out on loan and can't cut it in the lower leagues, then they will never cut it in the prem. That has been the problem for the last few. |

I don't think the problem is blooding them because we're in the Premier League, it's simply that they aren't good enough unfortunately... As soon as we start producing players that are good enough there won't be a problem getting them in the team... Hopefully 1 or 2 of the lads coming through at the moment will prove good enough... |

**thumbup I agree, he certainly isn't lacking in confidence, although Franck is an ideal type to tell what to do and to play alongside, when so young, and Franck was very supportive and encouraging with Graham who has had a great trial period **thumbup If Graham progresses well, he could be anything. Already, like you say, he's a man mountain but with skill. We've developed a good youth set up over the last 2-3 years, so Graham will have all the help he needs to make the next step - here's hoping he does :drink: Fulham were also looking at Graham, but we've snapped him up quickly :D Cheaper, and better, than Smalling, perhaps....... :ball: Welcome aboard Graham :Blues: |

That is so true. I think people confuse the Academy under Steve and the old board with what Terry W and Alex are doing now. NO! We haven't had the players coming through because we did not have the aggressive and determined management under Steve in wanting youngsters pushing through. Far easier to spend than to develop. And what did the sweet Karren say about our Academy when she closed it down? "Better to buy from a supermarket than grow your own - it's cheaper." Or words to that affect. Our Academy now is vibrant and exciting. The youngsters we are bringing in have testimonials and support from across the spectrum. This can only be good for blues and Alex is such a part of the Academy with Terry that this new generation is positively a bright future for us.They won't be neglected. The way we are growing is brill. And I don't mean to demean the lads who have been through our Academy under Steve. As I read on the website before, we try and place them and keep them in football. Which is good. They may not meet the level blues now expect but hopefully will stay in the game. I'm so hopefull. A club that supports and searches for the best kids. A club that supports the Women's team. A club where the manager is involved with the trainees and trialists and youngsters. When did this ever happen before ? :applause: :applause: |

I dont think the problem was that Bruce didnt want to play youngsters i just dont think they were good enough. Its not as if they have gone on to do better things since leaving blues. |
