If this is true and Mancini won't allow hart to leave I think he'll hand in a transfer request. He isn't gonna go back there and play 2nd fiddle to one of the best GKs. Hart wants 1st team football and has stated he wants to come back next season. I think we'll see abit of player power with this 1. 81ues

i totally agree 81ues. no way will hart go & sit on the bench after being a sit up a take notice success for us!
On a totally different note what a great asset Theo Walcot would be for us, he will never be a regular at Arsenal with all the competition there but would be sure fire starter for us.

My fear is that this could drag on over the summer, and eventually Man City decide to keep him. Having seen the difference an in-form, young, quality keeper can make, I'd hate to go into the new season with just Maik and Doyle.

I'd be tempted to press for an answer on Hart asap, and by the end of the month at the latest, and if there is any stalling, go ahead and get someone like Joe Lewis in from Peterborough or Kieren Westwood from Coventry.

I hope I'm wrong, but this could be another long-running transfer epic; and they have rarely favoured us.

Man City want to challenge for the title in the next few years, no way would they sell a keeper like Hart to one of the contenders!

Wenger will go looking abroad like he always does, Joe Hart will be the decider of his own destiny. If he wants to go he will go. Contracts are worth nothing these days. Man City will not have a player sitting on the bench in a hump losing money they could cash in on. They either play him or he goes out on loan or they sell him.

If he wants to go his agent will sort it. Contracts are for the players benefits only all they do is guarantee them there money and bonus's for the period of the contract. Ever since the courts allowed Bosman to go for nothing they have not been worth anything for the club.

Look at Anelka how many times he has moved, His Brother is his agent and they get 10% of the transfer money each time.

Of Joe Hart tells his agent to get him a move to wherever he will get it.

This isn't very encouraging.

Hart likely to stay at City - Mancini
Thursday 1st April 2010 16:19

Roberto Mancini says Joe Hart will "probably" stay with Manchester City - but a decision will now be made on his future until the summer.

Hart has enjoyed an exceptional campaign on loan at Birmingham and looks likely to win a place in Fabio Capello's World Cup squad this summer.

Given his performances for Birmingham this term, it is no surprise Blues boss Alex McLeish is keen to secure Hart's services for another season.

However, there has been some suggestion Manchester City would prefer to keep the star and let him battle for a first-team spot with Shay Given.

Mancini admitted it was 'probable' Hart would stay.

However, with a top-four place to fight for, he is eager not to allow the situation to sidetrack his side.

"Joe Hart is a good goalkeeper, who next year could be an important goalkeeper for England and Manchester City," said Mancini.

"He is only young and probably he will stay with us.

"But it is not an important issue just now.

"We must concentrate on our games and stick with what is happening this season

The question is would Hart want to stay and fight with Given for the No.1 spot, which he is guaranteed at Blues

Good Times!

Mancini wont make a decision yet about Hart! he knocked Big Eck back yesterday when McLeish tried to close him for another season loan.

Found this report on Virgin Media 31/04/10

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has been told he must wait until the close season to see if he can sign Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart on loan for a second season.

Hart has been in outstanding form since his temporary switch from Eastlands and emerged as a strong contender to be part of England's World Cup squad.

McLeish is keen to retain Hart's services for another 12 months and ideally would like to get approval from Roberto Mancini sooner rather than later.

But the former Scotland boss has been told he must hold fire until the summer.

McLeish told Press Association Sport: "City are not going to make any decisions regarding Joe until the summer. They have confirmed that to us now.

"We would like to sign Joe for another season. The keeping role is massively important and that's why I'd like to get City's nod of approval. That would help us in terms of us knowing what we are doing but there will be no news until the summer."

well considering this quote is on the 31st APRIL 2010, I was wondering that as you can see into the future, will he stay or go?!

Seriously though, im not too worried as for all we know he could mean he'll stay as in he wont be sold to another club. I hope we don't get Westwood or Lewis, they are both good prospects but for where we are at the moment surely Rob Green or Ben Foster (made a few mistakes but also a few worldies, needs games, as Hart did) would be a better bet.

I think it helps with the chants like the 'englands no 1' because it shows what blues fans think of him and he knows he is liked and wanted here and guarenteed first team football...what more can a player want?

...Champions or Europa League and playing in front of 45,000+ on a consistent basis come to mind, but i agree with you that there can be no doubt in Joe's mind as to how much he's appreciated and highly regarded by all associated with Blues, and that will certainly factor into his own decision making when the time comes.

It's understandable they want to keep hold of their asset. If he they loan him our for another year he could stop feeling like a Man City player and have no allegiance to the club. Also his contract with them may start coming up for question.

I think they may want to say you can loan him until Christmas. Unsure whether that would suit us. But he means they have him on a shorter leash. He can get first team football in and then come back and bed him selft in again at Man City.

I dont think there is much point in coveting him too much. I dont think he will be here long term. Be fantastic if he was but the player he is he will want to realise all his ambition over the next 10 years and Blues are at least five years away from offering him anything like that.

The only exception is IF he falls in love with our club. At present while he has been great for us he hasnt expressed a complete desire to join us.

It's great having him here but I wont bank on it.

He wont be happy going back there, after a season of first choice here, and sitting on the bench all season.

Hopefully he realises what we've done for him this season, and also realises that ive he has any ambition to really become England's number 1, then he wont get it if hes at Man City next year.

Man City is quite possibly the worst club to be at for a young international hopeful IMO...immense pressure week in week out due to all the investment supplied by the foreign investors...demands of European football/Premier League title...and then that ability to simply just go out and buy a replacement no matter the cost? The sheer fact theyve been heavily linked with Buffon, and on a lesser note Casillas, since their takeover, shows they're interested in an elite goalkeeper....what does that mean for Joe? Third choice? He's far better than that.

Even if they didnt bring in Buffon/Casillas or whoever, what happens if January comes around, Joe is still number 2 but hasnt done too well in the few cup opportunities he's had? They'd go out and replace him. Money is no object there, why else would a club be stupid enough to spend £130,000 a week on Patrick Vieira when its blatently obvious he's past it? Answer - Just for a 'big name' on the teamsheet.

If the Sheikh's in charge of City want global recognition overnight, do you think they'd get it with a team consisting of :

Joe Hart
Pablo Zabaleta
Wayne Bridge
Joleon Lescott
Stephen Ireland
Craig Bellamy
Roque Santa Cruz

Outside of this country, and possibly their own/former countries theyve played in, they arent instantly recogniseable, and if the chance came for them to replace them, im sure they would for bigger names...

If the opportunity come up to sign the world's elite players, like the Buffon's, the Maicon's, the Chiellini's, the Ribery's etc...they'd be straight in for them with no concern for the long term futures of their current younger stars

I fear for the youngsters at Man City really...how long do the likes of Hart, Onouha, Richards, Adam Johnson have there? Shaun Wright Phillips is already frustrated at contract talks and his lack of first team games.

At the end of the day, its going to be up to Joe himself. We all know how much of a pull player power is nowadays, so if he wants to come back here, and if he wants to be England's Number 1, rather than rotting on City's bench, then he should tell them straight he wants to come back here.
