One thing i have picked upon along with ' Summer Targets ' is how much attention McLeish is paying towards having the correct structure in place.

Now to be honest i dont know what our back ground structure was like down there in years gone by ( i should really as my Brother is a Coach at the Blues ), but one thing i do know is your top teams have Sports Psychiatrists, Sprots Science Professionals, Technical Coaching Staff and Fitness Coaching staff Etc.

Now Mcleish i believe will be here for the long term, There is no other club he could go too that offers a better challenge than what we do. Of course he could go for money and who could blame him. I hear liverpool a lot but if we all look at it Liverpool are a massive club but the structure they have there at the moment even the squad i think would be a nightmare for any manager to sort out. In my personal opinion and please feel free to challenge it but Liverpool have Torres, Gerrard, Carragher and Reina other than that i believe they are all expendable. Man City will be looking at a designer manager like they have now or Mourinho. Manchester United will have Fergie for a few years yet and Tottenham have happy Harry taking them up a gear so really it makes perfect sense for him to stop with us.

Now the squad he has assembled to date have been fantastic and we have a very good strong base to work from, But the real test is the next 2 seasons, if we can keep progressing over the next 2 seasons that is a fantastic result. None of us really know how much money there is to spend in the summer, to be honest i dont think the board know as Yeung is still out there promoting us in the far east looking for investment. But we do know there is money to spend. We have proved we dont need to go spending 15 million on 1 player with the signings we have made already, although we would all like to see that it will only happen if its the right player for the right money.

Mcleish is the first manager i can remember thats been at Blues thats working from the Ground up, And that i genuinly believe is the secret to any clubs seccess. He wanted to prove himself coming from scotland them were his own words. And i think he knows that he needs us as much as we need him.

And long may it continue.

McLeish is a pragmatist. He has gone to the board asked for money. Looking at the budgets he need to raid the championship, Scottish and Irish leagues for the best players he could get. Here we can can compete with these clubs for signatures bearing in mind the salary we can offer and the prestige of playing in the premier league. It means those joining us have something to aim for.

In building te setup the fitness coaches and facilities. It means that players who join us are going to be looked after. His attitude of "if we are going to compete with the best we have to do it the right way" makes perfect sense.
So the extra fitness coach is perfectly sound. It also means that when going in for better players. The players will know they are going to be looked after. They have every chance of playing at 100% of their capabilty which gives us our best chance of competing.

He's doing a really thorough job and in the right way of not risking the club.
Absolute outstanding!!
