I'm not fussed either way....but is this deja-vu? Weren't we haggling over a fee 2 years ago and Fulham ended up nicking him away? |

Yes we were in for him but he decided to go to Fulham because he wanted to stay in the London area so if thats the case he will probably join the circus that is West Spam. |

Can play left-back and left-wing, could be a decent signing but I'd prefer to have a natural left-back and then get a real winger. |

This is the story from The People. Not a lot of substance to it I'm afraid... BIRMINGHAM boss Alex McLeish will turn his attention to £15million-rated Brazil defender Michel Bastos ... when he misses out on £2m Paul Konchesky. Brum are set to go back in with a second offer for the Fulham full-back this week, but the Cottagers are not interested in letting him go. Instead, Fulham will offer 29-year-old Konchesky (pictured) a new deal in the next month, meaning McLeish must search for a left-back elsewhere. The Birmingham gaffer held meetings with Blues owner Carson Yeung in Johannesburg as both took in World Cup action. Transfers were on the agenda and the chase for a new left-back will have cropped up. Bastos provides cover at inter- national level for Inter Milan star Maicon and the 26-year-old has had an impressive season for French club Lyon, after joining from Lille last summer for £14m. Now, McLeish hopes to add him to his squad when the World Cup is over. Birmingham were left surprised last week when Palermo striker Fabrizio Miccoli called a press conference on Thursday to say he was not going to St Andrews, after the two clubs had agreed a £5m fee. But Hotline can reveal the real reason the move broke down. McLeish found out that Miccoli was not going to be fit until the end of October – and withdrew his offer 24 hours earlier. Brum and Wigan have also reached a stalemate over French Under-21 international Charles N’Zogbia. McLeish has offered £8m for the former Newcastle winger but Wigan say they want £10m. However, it’s not money which is holding up Birmingham’s bid for Konchesky, but the possibility that Roy Hodgson could be leaving Craven Cottage for Liverpool. This is the same reason Steve Sidwell is taking his time over a proposed move to Fulham from Aston Villa. Once the Hodgson situation is resolved, McLeish will be back with a £2m bid for Konchesky and this will see off West Ham’s interest |

Reports of Roy Hodgson going in for Paul Konchesky?? Why would he be prepared to sell him from Fulham and then turn round and buy him for Liverpool. Makes no sense what so ever When Jol takes over Fulham then we will find out if we will get him |

Fulham did offer him a new contract but has been reluctant to sign it up to now. Maybe he was waiting to see where Hodgson ended up? |

Got to be honest would prefer the boing boings to stay up and the dingles to go down. Always had more of an affiliation to the Baggies, even though after a Blues derby with them they nearly tipped the van I was in over, but for the Police on horse back arriving at just the right time, never been so glad to see a copper in my life. Plus we have our own resident Baggies fan in Maulley! ;) |

Konchesky was being sold by Fulham because his contract is about to expire and they want to avoid him going on a free. Konchesky/his agent wanted a move to get his 17.5 % share of the tranfer fee and perhaps larger wages. Going to Liverpool would achive those ambitions and he would remain under the manager who he knows. I do not think this looks good for Blues ambitions in respect of him. So far McLeish seems to have a plan B for all the set-backs he has had so far so I remain optimistic. KRO! |

Not sure about Konchesky but we need a left back, unless Murphy can sustain an acceptable fitness level. Jol looks to be back in the frame at Foolham and if so Konchesky may agree to stay, although I think the guy is after a pay day i.e. signing on fee etc so he may still move. I think his first choice will always be a London club if possible, wouldn't be surprised to see the Spammers sign him! |

Me too Maulley needs some comfort ......and The Hawthorns needs to be "boing boinging" again Thier stadium is almost as good as St Andrews in all honesty ......and thois season will see the first ever Premier League encounters between The Wolves and The Albion....Looking forward to those :applause: Posted Image |
