Personally I dont think any footballer is worth 30 grand a week.

How much do each of you get paid in a year???

Perspective.

£30,000 per week on a 2yr contract equals £3,120,000 now I don't know for sure but I bet the majority of Blues fans are on no more than £25 to £30k per year. So they have to work 104 YEARS!!! to get to the same earnings level. That's not even taking in to account what he's earned already in his career.

This is for a player who in Prem terms is somewhat below average (given his displays over the last 2yrs)

I accept that players will earn significantly more than the average person but £30k for Seb??? it's paying players like him figures like this that put clubs in trouble.

Seb is massively more influential than pennent but dont think he will get 30k at stans (alledgedly on 8 at the mo) Always puts a shift in and great defensive side to his game, but agree not as effective as under Brucie! Dont know why that should be, I would be sorry to see him go but depends who we replace him woth.

Don't get me wrong, I like Seb as a player, although he lets himself down with his tantrums every now and then! ;-)

I just think the world has gone mad...Pop stars, footballers and Actors rule the world...it's madness.

Not just footballers... NBA basketballers are on ridiculous deals...the highest paid player earns nigh on $25m a year...and he's not even one of the 'elite' players in the league anymore.

The best player in the NBA, LeBron James, is a 'free agent' this close season, and he'll command an even higher deal when he eventually signs for someone... theres rumours about him signing a deal reported to be $50m a year!

Not a bad way to earn a living eh.

The club took up a 12 month option for the player, so they could move him on for a fee if they so decide...

Whatever you think about Seb, he was an important part of our team last year. I still don't think we'd get as good an artisan midfielder who protects Carr as well as he does for the money it would cost to keep him.

I appreciate that we are probably looking to be more creative on the wings from now on, but we still need to have the option to play a good solid four across the middle - if not against the top teams then maybe just to start protecting leads and shutting games out. The big issue, as has been mentioned, is about Larsson's attitude towards being at the club. I'm not convinced he particularly wants to leave, but if the obstacle becomes how much he thinks he's worth over how much Eck thinks he's worth, then it'll be in the best interest of both parties if he moves on.

Some people have suggested getting rid of McFadden, who I think did really well last season to adjust his game to playing so defensively. I think his attacking game suffered as a direct result - some of the defending we had to do last season will take it out of the fittest players; it's difficult to be tricky and take men on with heavy legs.

Gardner is a better player anyway, i think larsson is a mediocre player worthy of £10k a week tops, i don't think he's the way forwards anyways, we need to sign better quality wingers/midfielders if we want to move forwards, he lacks pace and is too slow on the ball, mcgeady or n'zogbia is the way forwards.
