"I've not spoken about my future before because I wanted to weigh up the best options for my family," he told the club's official website.

"Looking into president Maurizio Zamparini's eyes convinced me to stay. I'm happy. I'm captain of this team.

"I worked hard to help us secure European qualification and now I want to play in it."

Miccoli was happy with Birmingham's willingness to bring him to the Premier League, adding: "I want to thank Birmingham for their interest."

That's a bit of an overstatement bluebel....
We might have seven players who play in that position

Ha Ha Ha!
Nope!
They actually play in that position....
If we had seven players who should play in that position then we would have seven strikers....
What I am saying is that unfortunately that is what we don't have **thumbup

He knows nothing about the on goings at the club and talks out his behind every single day!! I'm sick of all his rubbish excuses all the time. When the old board left, they should have taken this mug with them!
I think I hate him...

Sadly Tatts is not privvy to any behind the scene news, no matter what he may intimate, and I think most Blues fans have known that for quite a while.

Spot on. And when he does get one right he uses such phrases like "as reported in the Mail"

You have no idea how much this gets up my nose. But when he gets things wrong, as he has with Micolli, he doesn't say "contrary to what was reported in the Mail"

Miccoli has announced at his 10am press conference that he is staying with Palermo. He is not getting extra money from Palermo either, he is staying out of loyalty to the club. Fair play to him.
Next target please Alex.

http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?d...TrUrl=Translate

Fabrizio Miccoli, taken part in press conference, has spoken about the offer from the Birmingham, he refused. “I have refused an important offer for love of Palermo - Miccoli has said -, I have sent back behind the contract of four years (the captain the extension to the journalists) in order to remain in this square. I am the captain”.

http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?d...TrUrl=Translate

Taken part in press conference, Fabrizio Miccoli has spoken about the encounter happened some days before between he and the rosanero president, Maurizio Zamparini. “To Rome with Zamparini I have not spoken about money - Miccoli has said - but wanted to understand other things. I have asked if it still believed in me, if he wanted that you remained to Palermo. It has answered to me of, that I was still the captain. This has been enough to me”.

Its all rubish mate, he aint coming because his knee is no good and he new blues would find him out, keep him on a loan deal to prove himself and he didn`t fanncy that and crawled back telling them how much he loved them.

You may be right, you may be wrong, but as he isn't fit and we need a quick, mobile striker with the injury he has and at his age perhaps its for the best.

I agree with amuser.

Miccoli has the chance to play as Palermo's captain in Europe, it would be a shame for him to miss out after being the major catalyst in leading them to qualify.

It's not that difficult to comprehend: he said his heart isn't in the move.

I take issue with your readiness to assume that I would be negative about Blues as a prospect for a player.

take issue all you like try wording it a bit better then it wouldnt sound like you was saying he's to good for us .

its easy just to say if he dont want to come then fair play him for being honest and not wasting our time any more .
rather than make it sound like you think he made the right choice by not coming to us

Who said anything about not wanting to sign him? I just respect his decision and admire his loyalty, if I were in his position I'd have done the same.

Exactly.

People should look back at when David Dunn joined... his heart was never really in the mood, he always wanted to stay at Blackburn, but he'd fell out with their manager, Graeme Souness, and needed to get away... he came here, but still went to a lot of their games when he could, and couldnt get back their quick enough when the opportunity came up.

Thats just a player coming down south a bit from Blackburn.

Miccoli is an experienced, 30 year old who has captained the side he supports into the Europa League... the last thing we'd want, knowing the Italian temperament, is him regretting the choice to leave Palermo, because then he will be on big wages, getting older with us, with no motivation to play with us.

He could well have been a very exciting, and very good signing if he wanted to be here... but he doesnt, fair play to him being honest and considering everything, not just jumping ship for his pay packet like so many players today would do.
