The Blues have made an initial £3.4million bid for the former Juventus striker, reports respected newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, although Palermo are holding out for more.
The Sicilian club have already lined up former Middlesbrough striker Massimo Maccarone, who now plays for Siena, as a replacement.
But Palermo are reluctant to lose their CAPTAIN, who top-scored in their Serie A campaign with 19 goals in 32 appearances as the side finished an impressive fifth to qualify for the Europa League

Another captain, gotta be a done deal

engleman you must admit that if it was a choice between zamora (your mate) and miccoli we should go for miccoli as zigic can hold the up and lay off for chuchoplusgoals!(miccoli) :ph43r:

on a serious note, does anyone know anymore about this injury to Micolli?

He fell out of an Abba Cab on his way to meet Alex at The Radisson

Seriously though.....not serious ....should be fit for pre season

Quote:

The Luciano Zauri foul that earned Miccoli the penalty against Sampdoria, though it resulted in a successfully converted penalty, also caused a moderate injury to Miccoli's knee. As a result, Miccoli underwent right knee surgery on the 13 May 2010 at the Villa Stuart Clinic in Rome. The moderate damage to his cruciate ligament was deemed "succesfully repaired" by knee specialist Professor Pier Paolo Mariani, and Miccoli is expected to make a full recovery over the summer months. Miccoli's strong 2009–10 season played a big part in Palermo's campaign, which saw the club finish 5th in Serie A, tied for the best league finish in club history, and narrowly missing out on Champions League football.

He's 30 now.....we've certainly been looking at older strikers, eh ??? Would be a good buy for the club though

i agree, he'd be a great singing and it backs up what Tatts said recently that we were after an overseas striker not yet on our radar... let's hope we can do the deal.

that said, not too happy he was at the Villa Stuart hospital - i used to know a Villa Stuart and he's no doctor believe me!

According to Sun

Birmingham want to sign Palermo's tiny striker Fabrizio Miccoli.

And that will give manager Alex McLeish the ultimate little and large partnership.

Miccoli stands at only 5ft 6ins and if he moves to St Andrew's will team up with with the giant Serbian hit man Nicola Zigic who signed last week from Valencia.

That means there will be a difference in height of 14 inches between them.Italian sources say Palermo want around £5 million for Miccoli who bagged a impressive 19 goal's in Serie A last season.

He will be 31 later this month but McLeish believes the player's pedigree will be a big plus for Birmingham.

Miccoli used to play for Juventus and has Champion League experience. He as also been capped 10 times for Italy scoring twice. :drink:
