As I said before this guy's MP or the British Government haven't exacly moved mountains to assist him have they ?? they moved as fast as they did for the Liverpool fan wrongly convicted in Istanbul...Football has a stigma created by Maggie Thatcher...it was her political hobbyhorse taht won her favour with the likes of Parti and Lowdham etc etc etc...some 30yrs later that stigma is still in place.Bailing out irresponsible bankers is a full time job for the government of yesterday and today. And for your info Parti the UKIP were backing countless appeals made on behalf of Gary Mann...but our Government have signed up to a Fastrack legal system which gives its citizens NO right to seek legal representation other than what is provied by the country holding the trial...so as not to delay the prosecution. Keep Right on Parti your open mind should make a valuable contribution to American society |

It was her courage, commitment and political nous to get us out of the bloody awful mess the Labour government left us in that won her my favour. Likewise I am sure Cameron and Clegg will win my favour if they get us out of the doubly bloody awful mess the last shower of poo has left us in. But back to football, as I have said B25 as time marches on and the further we get into the 21st Century then the more minority the bonehead neanderthal football hooligan is becoming. The Premier League is becoming a whole matchday experience for decent minded folk and families. I love going to the Emirates, Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford but there again as you know B25, I do have a taste for those prawns. |

Remember the Oil Crisis of the 1950s ? We had North Sea Oil just coming on stream, but had to borrow from the IMF to support our public services. Hospitals, Schools, Police, Transport. We borrowed against future wealth that Noth Sea Oil would bring to the coffers. Part of the IMF loan deal was a curb on public sector pay. We had Barbara Castle's In place of Strife rubbish and then the Callaghan government just shuit up shop on wage rises in the public sector. Hence the national strikes. Not huge, not on a scale that we see in France or Germany, but shocking for the rightwing media that educated the lowdham's of this world. The "Winter of Discontent" - strikes and uncollected rubbish in London really impressed people in the shires who did not have that problem. And Thatcher got in. This time around, the BIGGEST World deression hits us as well as every other country in the world. What do we do - we borrow to save banks ( and in turn busineses that are in debt) we borrow to protect the small shoots of recovery, we borrow to make sure that Mortgage companies don't go bust and we have USA style repossessions. We are in debt. No question. But if you see the recovery that is slowly taking place, like seedlings being fed with the water and nutrients of the debts, what is the alternative? Massive cuts. Cut off the nutrients for growth, cut off the supply. Sink or swim. Don't support Dead Ducks. All Thatcher -speak. Brilliant. So we don't support the banks, allow repossessions, scrap the CGT on the rich and well off. Oh yes, as a sop, we'll only tax above £10K. History repeats itself in that global catastrohes force a supportive government to incur massive debt, and an incoming right wing junta have the excuse to destroy education, the NHs and public funding. All social policy. Been there seen it. **thumbup |

This used to be a football forum, I believe, but somehow the Thatcher-rite camp followers - who are having difficulty adjusting to the 21st century - have taken the opportunity to try to resurrect their heroine from her political vault. Just a small matter for the record, then. It was the bankers (remember them?) who blew billions of our savings on poisonous US-generated subprime fantasies. What happened? We tax-payers - Lowdham and all - shelled out billions in turn to keep them in the manner to which they had been accustomed. So now they're busy pocketing yet more subsidised bonuses while the Condems apply the meat cleaver to the jobs, services and incomes of the working Joes and Jills who stumped up the bail-out in the first place. Dumb? Somebody is. history repeats - and the butcher(deeply sorry to say) wears blue, usually. |

Mail at it again today - Blues fan arrested for breaching his banning order! It mentions six other arrests across the Midlands - one of which was in in Erdington and one of them in Witton. I wonder who those last two support? We'll probably never know! :banghead: |

Labour spend too much and leave a mess for someone else to clear up. Same every time post war: Atlee, Wilson, Callaghan, Blair/Brown. All socialists think they are spending their money, when in fact its ours. |

:banghead: thought exactly the same what a disgraceful news paper the evening mail as become so anti birmingham its untrue . why lead with that headline instead of just football fans arrested "no" Other arrests were made in Low Hill and Fallings Park in Wolverhampton, Wednesbury, Witton, and Erdington so like you why single out the blues fan |

The answer is simple hootie my friend, because they are anti-blues and to my mind don't even pretend to hide it. The previuos editor steve dyson was a dyed in the wool viler, he then gave license to the ludicrously poor lisa smith to have her own column where she was allowed to spout pro vile nonsense mixed with plenty of anti blues nonsense, she also knew nothing about football which is a major disadvantage for a sports reporter. Then a new editor took over david brookes, another viler who then gives the vile reporter matt kendrick his own half page column spouting pro vile rubbish. Where's tatts half page? Anything slightly negative about the blues is headline news anything negative about the vile is glossed over, there are so many examples of this its not even listing but the recent hooligan arrests just highlight how they operate. Its a vile rag and its there for all to see. |

Or to bring it right up to date.... I wonder how much milk Gordon Brown would authorise based on this: "THERE'S NO MONEY LEFT" - Labour's Liam Byrne, Former Chief Secretary to the Treasury :redcard: I also wonder who he would expect to pay for it? :boohoo: And please now mimic fake Scottish accent: Accountability? Responsibility? What's that??? Next :break: |
