Gives McLeish 1 less issue to worry about. He has fully deserved a new contract. LB may be one of our more weaker positions next season but hopefully this is because we will be able to sure up or attacking options. Still need a winger as Larson is very doubtful.

1. If he's first choice for left back for 2010/11. How long he can stay as first choice will depend if he can improve his attacking play because Euro challengers need that.

Were all of his vital goals last season not good enough?

I like Ridge, the strength of character he's shown to overcome being an ex villa player at The Blues, the improvement in his game and his attitude has been fantastic. Not to mention playing at left back with such accomplishment last season, good luck to him and long may he remain at St Andrews. :banner:

Ridgewell is the heart on your sleeve player that I adore and I'm delighted that he's committing to another couple of years here.

£2m is a bargain and I really think that his best position is fast becoming full back. Absolutely superb last season and he deserves to be number one choice for left back for the new season.

He doesn't want to play LB next season, wants to play CB.

Well, if Dann or Johnson get injured, he'll get to play there. Otherwise, I don't see how that'll happen, because they're both better players at centre back!

Happy that Ridge has signed, but hating all the press about Ridge saying survival is Blues target next season. Whether it is or not we will not get quality players to come to a club who think they may be in a relegation battle next season.

Imo did not need to be said especially to the media, who lets face it on the whole love to give Blues a kicking!

He went on Holiday this morning at 4.30am,he looked well knackered, he said to me that he can't be doing with being awake this early, seemed very happy and had a chat with the airport staff considering he was tired

im suprised at that as he said he enjoyed the chance to get forward more (watch at corners - he is the first with his hand up and goes forward every time and every opportunity)

Maybe it was one of those times when a change was nice but not as nice as the usual...almost like when you go on holiday and enoy it but your still glad to get back home

I disagree.

I'm glad our players are keeping their feet on the ground. Fantastic season last year, but the fact is McLeish is still moulding a squad of players that will eventually be a permanent fixture in the PL. Only then can the club look to build on that solid foundation.

I say well done to Ridge, great season last year, pledged your future to the club and you haven't let a good season go to your head. More of the same please!! :D

I don't disagree with players keeping their feet on the ground and I am happy Ridge has signed.

The point of my post, which seems to have drifted past you :silence: Was there is no need for our players or manager to harp on about survival next season as it will not aid us getting the quality players we are after if they think we will be in a relegation fight!

Hope that is clearer, cause you might think it is ok to give the press bullets to shot at us for no reason, everyone is different ;)

I am unaware of any bad press that blues may have received.

Methinks you have a slight chip on your shoulder

Did you watch him play last year?
