was thinking Landon Donovan would be an ideal wide player who also can play up front. he performed really well while on loan at everton. |

Bayer Leverkusen and Swiss international Tranquillo Barnetta had a great season with Leverkusen and is now in the World Cup. Might be worth keeping an eye on. |

Donovan - Very good player, but he won't leave LA Galaxy until their season ends/ Barnetta - Would be an unbelievably good signing - instrumental down the left flank for Leverkusen - but there's no way he'll be leaving Bayer. The lad loves the club and he's already on £60k+ wages. |

Having seen John Barnes recently I would say he is about as wide as a player can get! :o |

If I was looking for a left-sided attacker, my short list would look something like this. In no particular order… 1. Eden Hazard 2. Hatem Ben Arfa 3. Eljero Elia 4. Yassine El-Ghanassy 5. Maxime Lestienne 6. Urby Emanuelson Eden Hazard is the most exciting of those players, but I’m sure his next move will be to Barca or Manchester United – but it’s gotta be worth a phone call on the off-chance. I mean if you don’t ask, you don’t get, right? Emanuelson can play anywhere on the left side of the field, which makes him a flexible asset. He prefers a more attacking roll, and that’s where I think he’s best, he’s also more likely to be available for transfer. So for all those reasons he would be my first choice. But any of these guys would be good. |
