He must be brilliant. Haven't watched the game in full yet, but here's my logic.

I was out in the car, listening to five live, who had Turnip commentating. He said something like 'I don't want to upset all the Blues fans, but....'.

My immediate reaction was, no please Graham, go on, slate Zigic, I mean you are such a well respected ex manager of England that your opinion is absolutely the reverse of what is likely to be the truth. add to that your small minded, still a Villain attitude, then I'm sure the worst thing that you could have said about Zigic would have been that you thought he was the buy of the century, then we would really start to worry.

Dolt!

I haven't read the thread, but I'm going to assume that a load of snap judgements have been made.

So going by that you must have thought he looked poor.

How do you come to that conclusion?

your comment

I haven't read the thread, but I'm going to assume that a load of snap judgements have been made.

Why would you think a load of snap judgement s would be made., it's obvious you meant negative snap judgements.

You've made quite a few assumptions there, some you haven't even referenced. I suggest you go back and consider them before making an even bigger tit of yourself.

What an idiot you are and so easy to see through, expain your comment if you can.

What was your "snap" judgement

Cameron would have looked good in some of these sides.

I don't know what you're like in real life, but on here your incessant negativity is tiresome and you come across as one of either argumentative or not very bright - I've yet to decide which.

Seeing as you seem to have missed yet another point made by someone who disagrees with you, I'll try and explain. I'm not quite sure which part of me you've seen through, as it seems you have had enough trouble taking me at face value.

You assumed I was talking negatively, directly ignoring the fact that I had said that I hadn't read the thread. Yes, I was being a bit of a smartarse, but my point was valid regardless.

I neither made a snap judgement nor claimed to. I made an assumption that there would be people on here who would either write Zigic off or claim him to be the messiah based on this game - the 'snap judgement', if you will. It was a comment on the nature of the forum.

Above all of this, you assumed that I was of the opinion that Zigic was rubbish tonight. The punchline is that I didn't see the game.

Before I make my comment, I will concede the fact that I have only read the last 2 pages of this thread, but that was enough..

Am I missing something? How can people say he is rubbish or didnt look good? In the first half he worked his socks off getting back and then forward again, stopped a few dangerous-looking Ghana attacks aswell.

He held up play when he needed to, showed composure, showed hunger via his reactions to not getting supplied from the crosses, really good feet for a big man aswell.

What did he do wrong that ommits negative comments? He mis-hit one shot when it came over to him, well, it looked like he hit it back across goal so maybe it werent even a shot?

Honestly, look at the games so far, Thierry looked below average, Ribery looked like Mcsheffrey, the likes of Tevez, Higuain, Di Maria... Rooney, Lampard... So many great players have looked distinctly average so far, but I felt Zigic really gave it a go and worked hard, how people can say he played poorly is beyond me

I think Serbia were getting way too comfortable just hammering the ball up the pitch so Lazovic came on to replace him to probably cut that out, but the Serbian fans we have had feedback from have been saying how highly rated he is, the newspapers have been saying weve nailed a bargain, the commentators today said that its a great bit of business from Mcleish, and that Birmingham have got a really good striker on their hands..

Typical bloody Bluenoses writing someone off after less than one International game, and I imagine he is suffering from extreme lack of match-fitness aswell

overall serbia were poor, widemen on both flanks never put any half decent crosses in, zigic was coming way too deep but must have been under orders but when he did he linked up well.far too early to make any judgements on him yet

:Blues: I think they got the tactics wrong. It seems like he was asked to play in the slot between midfield and attack and to make up the fifth midfielder when defending. all their attacking moves were more for the racing snakes not for the Eiffel tower they have in Zigic, a total waste of a tall striker in my opinion from which I could not tell if he is good or not and by the look on his face I don't think he wanted to be where he was anyway.

Big Eck will sort that out come the new season.

i think its way to early to call a judgement on zigic after one game yeah he did play deep but like most people have said on here he may have been told to but i will say he aint bad at defending if needed

Remember he's hardly played for valencia this season so looked a little short of match fitness and had no service whatsoever which is why he kept coming too deep to get involved in the game. A full pre-season and alex telling him to lead the line and not come too deep and he will do great for us. One thing the game did show though was he's a player who needs the right kind of service, we definately need a top class wide man.

I was listening to this match on 5 Live and Alan Green reckons Blues have bought a Plonker.

Co-Comentator, Graham Taylor, agreed and said he's not as good as Crouch.

How can these idiots make such comments on the basis of seeing him play half a game!!!!!!!!!

dont get to upset because people have different opinions to you as the next game you might think he played rubbish while others think he was OK, it's football and every one has had different opinions from when the first ball was kicked.

absolutely spot on it wasnt the way he played that was a problem more the way he was asked to play .
6ft 7in player and he is played behind the forward line :banghead: whats all that about surely he as to be played as the main striker with others supporting supply to him was rubbish :bluzz:

Alex wont play flair players as they wont drop back and do the dirty work, thats why in my OPINION he has gone for someone who`s natural instict is to drop deeper and who is probabley a better defender than a striker. Dont come on here telling me differant as i dont care that you think that i should only agree with your opinion, i have watched blues longer than some of you been alive. From what i have seen of him he is a typical Mcleish player and blues will do much the same with him as serbia did once we are 1-0 up. Time will tell but imo he aint going to be the prolific scorer some on here seem to think he is.

No...

There were only a couple of posts that involved the words ''Its still early days but..''

There was however quite a few dead-end judgements like 'Worse than Heskey'' and ''He is very poor''

Stuff like that doesnt leave much room for any sort of change in opinion.

And I wouldnt take much notice of your opinion anyway if im honest mate, you always seem to be pro-Villa/anti-Blues if im being honest!

Yawn.

Typical Blues "fans" once more... he hasnt scored a hat-trick so he's rubbish and a plonker and makes everyone look amazing etc.

Zigic brought composure to the otherwise off looking Serbia, held the ball up very well, shouldve scored granted, but looked good nonetheless.

The two commentators on ITV also said he looked good and Blues had spent wisely on him... people wont be happy unless he bags goals every week! And that simply wont happen.

ho well thats it then, the two itv commontaters said nice things you want to hear and we have all got to belive them.No sunshine some of us are capable of making up our own minds and dont need you a 20 year old novice to tell us vastley experianced fans what we should say and should`nt say. If you make your judgment based on what two idiots say thats up to you but dont refer to them as proof of a players ability to me.
