not sure about there place in the british game, as it is people moan enough anyway.

i got back from joburg today after watching england usa and holland denmark and the vuvuzela and horns MADE the atmosphere pre match! for the england game there was a good amount of singing especially considering all fans are mixed. i had a great time with the african fans out there and it seems sad the rest of the world can embrace the cup and vuvuzela and all we can do is moan and create rubbish media storys about how every england fan will get mugged etc. we saw no trouble at all and the people are great!

K.R.O

are you south african by any chance? :LMAO:

on tv the atmospheres are Poo. if you think a loud buzzin noise is an atmosphere then fair enough, but there is no roar of excitement or cheers from the crowds, no witty chants - just a wall of monotone noise.

No im english, a proud brummie one at that thanks!

there was atmosphere at the england game certanly, i have many videos of us all singing and having a great time and in the ground there was lots of singing from england fans as i said earlier though ALL fans are mixed so we had USA fans, south african nationals england fans and even german in the same area, this will no doubt channge in later rounds so you may get more singing. you must remember though english and british fans sing, other countries chant and dont have many songs so this does make a difference, i have been to italy and spain to see games and italians just shout and chant and spanish mainly chant with limited singing.

all fans at the world cup love the vuvuzela and enjoy having a laugh with them and i think its sad that we are the main country moaning about it.

I'd have to experience it first hand, but I reckon it would be a great laugh and would help create a more carnival-like atmosphere. Christ knows some in the stands need help to get motivated.

i think there more likely to cause a riot in the stands, not a carnival atmosphere :D

There'd be more activity at least.

I don't think we need it for the most part, but I do still get the feeling that we are suffering a hangover in the crowd from the disappointment of relegations and boards past.

Thankfully these would be classed as an offensive weapon and would never be allowed in a British stadium.

Oh dear Lord, please let this statement be true! Amen.

No, no, no!

They're impacting on the level of football at the World Cup, and making it quite possibly one of the most boring tournaments so far in recent memory!

They'd be banned if I had my way.

Vuvu Army! :redcard:

I second this - against stuttgarrd blues fans sang all the way through the game stuttgarrd sat and politley applauded.

They did however give us big cheer when "shall we sing a song for you" was followed by a chorus of "!"£$ on the munich"

But then even though we were sitting blues fans one side and stuttgard fans the other this is just how it happened to go there was no official "sit here, sit there" going on so there was a little bit of mixing which is brilliant, creates a great atmosphere and everyone has fun....Similar to the game with sporting too when there was a bit of banter and a few people chatting/swapping shirts after the game.

Thats the brilliant good side of football we dont see in this country enough. Both of those games stand out for me not as the best we have played but ones I have enjoyed the most even though they were 'meaningless' friendlies just for the great day/atmosphere.

Don't forget, a plastic bottle full of Coke WITH THE TOP ON is considered to be dangerous at St A's !

Do you think if we had the Vuvuzelas at Home matches it would create an atmosphere or a full scale riot. I think if we had one designated area for fans to use them it would be fine, we all know we have a few fans who would not appreciate it being blown down their ear, but if they were in the Gill Merrick lower or Paddock, may create a better atmosphere for home games.

id rather everyone in the stadium brought a crying baby

**thumbup

But it will need more than individual clubs, it needs the FA to ban the 'things'

Well done to Borussia Dortmund, may others follow where they lead **thumbup

This is just a fad and it won't enter the British game . Parents get fed up of kids electric toys they bought them for Christmas let alone that monotonus drone of that horn.

The fad is beginning to die over there. They were not very loud towards the end of the SA - Uruguay game. And yesterday I did not here them during the Argentina game I part listened to on the car radio and I hardly noticed them during the Mexico game last night. In fact last night was the first time I heard singing.

The Vuvu is on it's way out. Horray. :applause:

That's because a bottle of coke with the top on could possibly have been purchased elsewhere at something which actually resembles the recommended retail price and the serving suggestion; instead of getting a care in the community case to slop it down the side of a plastic cup and serve half a cup of froth. Blues must protect their earnings....

I remember watching a video that my son made. Sounds so similar to the vuvuzela. There were around 8or 9 of the lads, and they got loads of acrylic piping from the builiding site at snow hill, they all went to the bullring and held all the pipes together (all of different diameters etc) and some lad blew down the end and it made a racket! much louder than the vuvuzela's!

I think we should make 1 and keep playing it to the away fans down the microphone!

When I find the vid, i'll put it on youtube, its on his old phone i believe.
