Why don't the board just put their hands in the pockets and go for Zarate.. Lazio are in debt and would say yes to a decent figure... if we offered 11m for Babel just offer that for Zarate..

If not maybe Santa Cruz from Man City - quality player and can't get a game..

Zarate Won't come back, top European clubs will be his destination.

There's no concrete/genuine links with Zarate and any top clubs this summer.

He's not had a prolific season at Lazio and hasn't been a regular starter. That's not going to tempt the big clubs.

I think we'd stand a very good chance of getting Mauro back subject to one major point - would he come back to England?

I don't believe he gave us and McLeish a lashing when he left. I certainly never saw any damning comments. When he came here he said he was happy to be playing in the world's best league and wanted to earn a permanent deal with Birmingham.

He played with passion and worked incredibly hard, he's a self motivated player.

Zarate is exactly what we need. He's the type of star player that would take us to a whole new level.

As Zarate has a 30 m euro buy out clause from what I have heard.

Is there any particular reason he had a poor season?
