Great news, he must be licking his lips with the cahnces Zig will give him....tons of goals in the last 20 minutes of games...we will be able to put teams under a lot of presure and snatch late goals...

I hope we do get lots of late goals, but then i also hope fans don't hope Philips will then start, he won't last the pace and the last 20 minutes for Philips only Alex.... **thumbup

Just announced on 5live as well.

We could have quite a collection of strikers to pick from next season If Eck gets another one in.

Thats good news for us I thought he may go to a championship club to get more starts but it looks as if he as accepted the roll of an impact player. Excellent quailty to call off the bench when we need him **thumbup

Philips cant last any longer than 15 mins and he's Knackered, He's too old and probaly on a high wage..

Surely we could have got in someone younger..

Would any other club in the premiership have taken on a striker at his age for another 12 months?

So we got up front so far,

Ziggy..Is he gonna be worth 6 mill?, is he going to deliver the goals? Lot of pundits not impressed!!
Jerome..less said the better
Philips..wont start, will play 15 mins here or there..
O'Connor..still injured, gets moaned at by a lot of fans..
Bent..Is he still here?

And Chucho has gone..

As things stand at the moment do we look like improving on our goals tally from last season? Will we improve on an average a goal a game? Doubt it!!!

So pleased - especially after reading only two days ago that "sources at the club" were questioning paying him £20k a week if he only came on as a sub now and then.

Where do these journalists from London get in touch with "sources at the club" - or do they mean West Ham sources?

Well done Kev, slowly and step by step we are getting there.

He must be happy to spend most of the time on the bench, as McLeish couldn't have made it any clearer that would be the case.

15 mins impact every other game if needed, is worth the £1m wages for 1 year.It isn't possible to get someone like Kev for £1m? Cheap at half the price if he manages to get 2 or 3 important goals that gain us 4-6 points next season.

I think Tatts was spot on when he suggested that perhaps KP wouldn't want to put himslef through a 46 game season in the CCC. No doubt he read that between the lines when chatting to him or someone 'in the know'.

Trust Tatts.

i think its good business, its not all about playing, surely he will be used to help the kids etc. there is no one better in the game to teach them.
he will come on late and pinch a couple of goals and goals equals points.
and just for the record he is on 22k a week.unless he has agreed to drop his money this time.
best of luck super kev you are a credit to the game, and there are not many of those around. i think he will get a great reception on his return to the hawthorns and is bound to score.

Would any other club in the premiership have taken on a striker at his age for another 12 months?

Well Alex Ferguson thought it was ok to take Henrick Larsson on loan for 3 months when he was 36.
Why I wonder? Natural goalscorer, who didn't need pace because he had a good football brain, popped up in the right areas to get on the end of loose balls in the box......sound familiar. If it was good enough for Man Utd to do it, then I reckon it's good enough for Blues to do the same.

I doubt if he's on anything like £22k now. They just wouldn't have offered that much and gambled that he didn't fancy leaving the area and no other 'local' club would have matched the new figure.

Sometimes you hold all the aces; other times you don't. This is one of the latter.
