Celtic are set to miss out on the permanent signing of Landry N'Guemo after they failed to meet Nancy's valuation of the player.

N'Guemo spent the whole of last season on loan at Parkhead and he impressed during his time in Glasgow.

Nancy are thought to be holding out for £2million for the midfielder, but Celtic are unwilling to meet the price-tag.

The news has alerted a number of English sides with the likes of Wigan, Stoke and Birmingham all linked with the 24-year-old, who is currently at the World Cup with Cameroon.

Nancy sporting director Nicolas Holveckconfirmed N'Guemo is unlikely to join Celtic with talks taking place with interested English parties.

"We spoke to Celtic at the start of the week regarding Nguemo and, following that discussion, I now believe he won't be joining them next season," Holveck told The Herald.

"There is quite a difference in opinion over our valuation of the player and theirs and because there is other interest from England I would expect him to move elsewhere.

"We have been having discussions with English sides regarding Landry for more than a week now, but there is no panic over his sale."
