Can't wait to see 1875 refreashments.

Why did the old board subcontract it out if you can bring it in house and make more money.

they were all about making money.

oh wait a minute. They were all about making easy money..

Blues fans will get their first taste of a much-improved matchday experience when they return to St.Andrew's this weekend.

Giving further proof of the club's commitment to listen to their supporters, significant investment has been made around St.Andrew's during the summer in response to feedback from fans.

With Real Mallorca set to provide the final pre-season test for Alex McLeish's men on Saturday ahead of the start of the Barclays Premier League on August 14, the most notable improvements around the stadium will be the refurbished concourse areas.

All 22 catering outlets inside St.Andrew's are now controlled by Blues' in-house team and will come under the new, stylish '1875 Refreshments' brand, inspired by the club's proud history.

Crucially, by taking complete control of the retail catering, Blues are now able to offer better quality and value - with all profits being reinvested back in to the club.

A new food court is in place behind the Garrison Lane stand while, wherever possible, all bottle bars have now been replaced with draught beer pumps. The cost of a pint, Foster's Super Chilled or John Smiths, has also been reduced to £3.20-a-pint, a price that will remain fixed for the entire season.

Other improvements include a smart new look for the Tilton Road bar, now known as the 1875 Bar, and £5.50 'pie and pint' meal deals.

Explaining the thinking behind the drastic refurbishment, Kevin Smith, Birmingham City's Head of Commercial Operations, said: "We received a very clear brief from the board to significantly improve the quality and value of our match day catering outlets.

"Feedback we had received from our fans had identified this as a major priority over the summer and I am delighted with the results.

"We were keen to show genuine value by creating 'Meal Deals' and reducing the price of a pint - but also to increase the quality of the products that we serve."

Those making their return to St.Andrew's this Saturday will also see replaced seating in the upper tier of the Garrison Lane Stand, linked up TVs showing games and scores via Blues TV and Sky Sports throughout the concourse and 14 new speakers around the stadium to improve the acoustics of the PA system.

i was wondering where the '1875 refreshments' came from and realised it's the average price of 2 pints, 2 pies and a mars bar at the ground!!!

good work Blues - thanks for listening! **thumbup

it is in a football ground!!

£3.20 a pint is massively expensive - but its not really expensive in football ground terms.

I find it quite amusing that they are bragging that the price has been reduced to £3.20... but well done for reducing the price from whatever it was before.....
