But we are never guarenteed to get a LM after we've sold him, resulting in either, last minute buying or paying more than we would want

Dont need to sell put a £20 million pound price tag on him and give them a bit of their own medicine.

If we definately had a replacement or two lined up first then I would consider it. Whilst McFadden definately has talent, we see it on a far too inconistent basis in my opinion. As I think back across the seasons since he signed there are more moments I can think of that have frustrated me compared to impressed me. He seems a little lazy at times, I can remember him bottling a fair few challenges, not chasing things down, giving the ball away with sloppy passes etc.

But we would have to have a definately better replacement definately lined up as we are too light on the flanks as it is.

Thing is though if Mcfaddens talents were consistant and he produced them every game he wouldn't be playing for us, he would still be at Everton or highier starting every game, a club of our stature is never going to get flair players in who produce every single game, but you need them so the team has some flair and talent regardless of if they dont show it every game. I think he still contributes to the team every game and he runs his socks off down that left wing and hates getting subbed when he does

So yeah incase you haven't guessed my view is dont sell

Straight swap
Mcfadden for Mcgeady

Simples.....

I said it all last season Faddy has not pulled his weight when needed to, time to get rid of dead wood
:bluzz:

yes why not let one proven Premiership player and bring in one who isn't... simples - you must be! :banghead:

sometimes the gamble is worth taking
Johnson / Dann are perfect examples

My hunch is that as soon as his good lady found out she was expecting he informed AM that he would like to in back to Scotland to raise his family there. Out of respect for the team he wouldnt force a transfer but hoped AM would appreciate the circumstances and look for his replacement. Thats why we have been looking for wide left players since Jan. Just a thought.

McFadden would absolutely shine in the SPL. Would rather keep him than cash in though.

He is almost one of those players that knowone knows were to play..un settles the team play at time...its a team game not a Mcfadden game. For that reason i don't mind if he goes and it allows us scope to buy a certain player from Wig Wam.

would you sell him if we then bought charles n zogbia?

i would sell him for that replacement..

What would everyone else do sell or not?????

feed.back

Under those circumstances I'd consider doing a deal. As much as I like McFadden, you're right about him not necessarily fitting in and I think we'd benefit from an out-and-out winger.

I've got mixed feelings about this...

Mcfadden can be ace...

but normally only the game or two after he's been dropped for a match as if he's got something to prove

the rest of the time he'll float around or try the same trick on the edge of the box...

he has the teckers but i think he just doesn't give 100% all the time...

if they came in and offered 6 million for him that would be a good transfer on our part

but whose to say we would get someone new in time?

I hope this turns out to be true. Half the time with McFadden playing it's as though we're a man down.

1. We don't need to sell McFadden in order to raise the extra £4m to buy N'Zogbia!

2. Even if McLeish did need to sell to buy he wouldn't do it to aquire the over-priced winger from Wigwam!

3. AM values the Motherwell striker too much to part-ex him!

4. Martinez is resolved and determined keep Charles N'Zogbia!

5. Both McLeish and Pannu have since drawn a line through the prospect of a N'Zogbia!

6. No one beyond the fan base is that desperate to get Charles N'Zogbia!

7. Blues have now moved on in pursuit of better winger options IMO!

In the past I have been a big critic of fadds but in regards to this deal my answer would be no thank you to celtic.

I feel if we get Dembele for instance this would benefit Fadds as he would no longer be the only player we depended on for openings.

I also have a feeling about him this year.

Even if we get a LM in i would not sell mcfadden. Ok he hasnt had the best of time at us so far, but if u was asked to play in a different posistion every week you wouldnt be able to adjust.

Play Faddy off zigic and we will see the best out of him. Zigic will push defenders about and force them back leaving more room for Faddy.
You saw in the friendly his movement from a phillips flick on and finished.

On the contrary however, if the board had any idea that he would be this inconsistent and we would get such a little return from him I doubt very much we would have splashed out £6 million pounds on him.

In my personal opinion, he has performed well below expectations all in all.
Again a usefull enough squad player, and I would rather have him out on the left than Fahey, but there are other players about that I would rather have starting than McFadden.

Agree with other posters too that there jus doesn't seem to be a perfect position for him. I do't think he offers enough up top. His most effective posistion is probably in the hole behind strikers, but can we really afford to tear up our whole formation/game plan to accomodate someone? I wouldn't want to build my team around someone so inconsistent.

If they do come in for him I beg and plead we sell. Like somebody said 1 in 6 is not good enough. He barely looks interested and doesnt do it for me anymore so id personally take him all the way up there myself!

Neil Lennon is a very inxperienced manager, and could probably be bullied into paying over the odds for Mcfadden, if we were prepared to even negotiate a fee and sell him.

But to be fair, we have prepared our team for the season and Mcfadden is in those team plans, considering we are trying to build on last seasons success, there is absolutely no scenario where I feel we would need to sell a team regular like Mcfadden.

There is a poster on the evening mail forum stating that 2 signings by 5pm tonight.

Alot of people are calling him a wum but to be fair he has provided some spot on info well before the media got it.

If we get as he is suggesting the 4 players (whom it is said will have representatives at today's game) then this can only be good for fadds as he will get more space because of the threat posed by Dembele.

He says Dembele will be flying in on Sunday to complete the deal and with Fox from Burnley with either a part exchange or straight cash for Bent.

I am definitely feeling good about this.

Do you mean Bent could be included in a deal for Fox, or someone else is mental enough to take Bent off us?

Either will do for me.

A friend of mine who goes to uni in Leeds, said theres been heavy rumours that they are preparing a £500k bid for Bent, to "replace Jermaine Beckford"

Good luck with that Leeds.

It wouldnt be much of a loss to blues imo. The guys talented but way too inconsistent. The Spl would suit him down to the ground imo.

Bye bye
