I hope I am wrong, but I think I got a glimpse today of why he was so easy for us to sign and why we need another striker. |

Jesus Christ. Talk about writing someone off on what I presume is your first view of him full stop. The guy's scored goals through his career, at all his clubs really (not so much at Valencia, due to being kept out of the side so much by David Villa, but what striker wouldnt be!). He is very intelligent, knows where his teammates are... still looks a little rusty but thats understandable following little football for Valencia last year, and then a World Cup and subsequent break afterwards. |

tbf what i saw was him not getting the ball at his feet, every player was just lofting the ball towards him, on one occasion he did a smart chest down to phillips on the edge of the box, very composed player from what i see. |

Any sensible jury would be out for at least half the season, if not the whole season, &, no I'm not saying he need not perform during that time. Judging a player on seeing one friendly, you have to be joking, surely. |

:o Poppa... ..."the jury's still out" :LMAO: To date only 10k fans have seen 45 minutes of him in a meaningless friendly. So less than 50% of jury have been present and the real evidence has not been presented yet. I'll let you know end August. |

As soon as he came on, he looked a tiny bit shaky, misplaced a few first-time touch passes, but as the game went on he looked more and more comfortable. He is so smart, he reads the game a few seconds before a lot of people. He knows what is going on around him, and he is a good few seconds quicker in his brain then alot of the players around him, but the thing is, that goes for our players aswell, sometimes they arent reading his clever play. But im sure the more these lads play around each other, the more they will grow to learn what he is all about. I think he linked up well with Jerome yesterday, Jerome was chasing the balls, holding them up, and then either crossing for Zig or pulling them back for Murphy or someone else to cross in. Definately too early to slate him though. |

:Blues: Your having a laugh Jury! what jury? He has not played a real competitive game yet and already the vultures of doom and gloom are gathering. Zigic yesterday was a class above most of the team he will be a really good buy if we use him properly. |

I think i'm a good judge of strikers...after all everyone laughed at me the start of last season when I said you know who would be a flop (and he was) so I feel qualified to add my 2 cents worth...and I think zig will do just fine, score a few, set up a lot more, but his brain and ability to lay the ball off, win the ball in the air and more importantly his selflessness and team work ethic will be a good addition to our team |

I specifically remember him making a good run into the box, Seb had the ball and he motioned to him to play it to his feet infront of him, instead seb chose to cross it into the Tilton. |

Got himself into some good positions for crosses, linked play and bought others into play well. Unlucky not to score in that goal mouth scramble. Seems like a intelligent player. Another plus was that we didn't always seem to lump the ball up to him, I think we're looking to get crosses into him from the wings to take advantage of his height as apposed to just lumping it up to him. But he does give you the option of a long ball if we need it. |

Zigic looked good yesterday and showed glimpses of some really neat link up play, I wouldn't be too critical of him as it was only a pre season friendly. He looks like he will be more of a provider than an out and out goalscorer but he has got goals in him. |

I'll use Pooleys words to descibe Zig to describe chucho, "he scored a few and set up a set up more" |

3 goals isnt a few...its basicly a couple + 1...a few would be 5,6, 7 which im confident zig will get. I'd say 7-ish goals wouldnt be a bad return from him and with jerome getting double figures, maybe 4 - 6/7 depending on how long he stays for GOC and then bowyer with his usual 5 or 6....we will be in a far far better position than last season, hopefully we will be able to keep em out as well as we did last season |

GET RID OF HIM lol no, its one friendly. If we're gonna base people on a single game then half the england team wouldn't be playing football professionally. Hes a decent enough player, people need time to settle and lets support a player for once! |

Zigic will be our clever man like berbatov is for man utd. Berbatov gets his critics because he doesn't score much but when given the ball his link up play is clever and a class above the rest. People will compare zig to crouch, due to the height but comparing on play zig is the same player as berbatov. He won't run past defenders or chase a lost cause but give him the ball at his feet or head and things happen around him. Also berbatov doesn't score many but does chip in, but that's due to the fact of pulling defenders around and creating space for others to chip in. Zig will do the same. Expect more goals from the wings and either bowyer or gardner. Who ever plays up front with him will benefit and get chances. |
