I wonder if CJ will read this

I very much doubt it..most players don't read this and i think most managers would say don't read any media or forum stuff and concentrate on your own game.

Well that is what i would do.

jerome knockers to a man are clueless

we need to create more chances for jerome
he'll finish 1 in 5
same as drogba and rooney

(btw matt derbyshie will finish 1 in 4 - same as torres)

official barclays league premiership stats btw

Last time he scored was against Man City, so that's 7 league games without a goal. And I bet in these games he has had more than 5 shots.

Until yesterday, Rooney hadn't scored since March, so I'm not totally sure what your point is.

If you're talking to me, the poster did not say 5 clear shots in one game, they said he will score 1 goal every 5 shots.

What you think about him is immaterial. He is England's first choice striker. He is head and shoulders above Jermone in skill, talent and ability. He is the best English striker in the game at the moment, and he's been on a horrible run of no goals and poor performances for a while.

So a dip in form can happen to anyone, even the best.

The simple fact is that Jerome was our top scorer last year, and despite the fact he had a poor game today, he deserves a damn sight more respect from Blues fans than he gets.

So he's not scored in seven games. Lets start having a go when he's not scored by Christmas eh, and not right at the start of the season.

He has had more than 1 poor game. What did my head in today was Bolton 2 defenders were passing the ball to each other and jerome was just watching them, when rooney would have ran to them to try and take the ball off them.

I am sure he will claim 2 assists for both goals.

I also think we has no football brain but we give him a poor supply of balls.

That was my point about Kevin Davies, may not be prolific but he keeps centre halfes on their toes all through a game.

Are you always this obtuse, or is this a special effort just for my benefit?

You posted that Jerome hadn't scored a league goal in seven games, as if that was either 1) an unforgivable sin for a striker and 2) something utterly unknown by Birmingham City strikers.

Rooney went five months without a goal in all competitive games both for United and England. So if the best English striker can have a drought of that mangnitude, why are we having a go at Jerome for seven games over a combined period of about two months?

Yes he was poor today. No, he's not exactly been at the races so far this season, but he was still our top scorer last season, and I expect him to come good this season, or at least he will if we all don't start getting on his bloody back everytime he has a game without a goal or has a poor game.

The negative view that some have of Jerome, yet will totally ignore in other players, is a real disgrace and shows a worrying undercurrent in some fans outlook.

The measure of your team is your weakest link. When we had Francis, Bob Latchford, Hatton it was as good a front three in the top division at the time, but we had Dave Latchford, Garry Pendrey and Malcolm Page playing every week so we were never going to be successful. At this level a Prem striker should have instinctively known how to make that match-winning shot and that was lobbing/chipping it. AM's reaction showed it all: Jerome made the wrong decision. He's no doubt had PM looking for a striker to replace Jerome since the start of last season. Once AM has confidence that NZ has adapted and settled in then it will surely be MD that will be paired with the Serb and CJ will be moved to the bench.

Mate its the same every year, someone has to be the scapegoat,
Its Jeromes turn now,and Fahey in the runner up spot,
Not sure what they make of it when they read it as im sure they do,same as they are both on Facebook.so im not sure how the comments help.

You wont see any stats for how many times he shoots & misses the ball, because i dont think he has done that or if he has maybe once or twice. Lazy?? If Jerome is anything hes not lazy, he chases players down and causes havoc.

Did you record the game and play it fast forward :LMAO:

Jerome had the chance to win the game for us today, but his absolutely dreadful finishing was the difference. Not the ref, he didn't throw it straight down the keepers throat one on one did he?

Think your stats needed some questioning!

Derbyshire Careers Stats- 143 games 55 goals= 2.6 games per goal
...Bear in mind..9 goals in all competitions, during 14 starts and 16 substitute appearances.. So still one in 3 in his debut season.

Fors- 250 games 66 goals= 3.7 games per goal.
...For blues..Total of 30 goals in 101 apps=3.3 games per goal

Jerome- 237 games 64 goals= 3.7 games per goal.
...For blues..158 games 37 goals=4.2 games per goal.

So in the Premiership Jerome has a worse record than both Derbyshire and the Fors. So if we had a player with Fors's strike rate for us, then over 38 games, he get about 13 goals, whereas jerome will get 9. Fors also didnt play for Cardiff to boost his stats! His strike rate would also have been lessened by half games/last 10 minutes at Chelsea.
Can't really comment on Derbyshire because he has played a fair bit of lower league football in his time and Greece, but from his Blackburn days he had a knack for getting goals. The original poster may only be using starts but this has also influenced Fors and Derbyshires strike rates, so using only starts for Jerome would make him seem like he's on a par with the Fors and Derbyshire, but on closer inspection... not.

Discuss!

If Cameron Jerome was the perfect player he wouldn't be at Blues....simple. With his pace, if he could finish and show more awareness he'd be playing for the Top 3.
