YES, he has a poor touch sometimes, YES, he does miss chances you'd like him to score. But tell me, with his goals to games ratio, add to his pace and power, then add a BETTER touch and finally, improved finishing, Do you think he'd be here???
The only reason a player can SOMETIMES have a bad touch, can SOMETIMES miss 'easy' chances, (but not others) and can SOMETIMES produce unexpected brilliance, is CONFIDENCE.
The times he does it, shows he's capable. It's when a miss kick goes wide and the 'ive paid my money' brigade abuse him, that you can see his head drop.
Ever thought why he dont celebrate goals like most others?
Would you? If the very people cheering, were jeering not 2 minutes ago?
Get off his back, support him, cut out the ridiculous, mindless abuse, and he may become the striker we all want him to be. just give it a try? You never know.
Oh, before i go, a direct comparison, between players of a similar age, playing in a similar environment (city)
Gabby Agonglahor.
Played: 166. Scored : 45. Ratio: 3.68. Abuse from own fans : 0
Scroll back up and compare.
Now imagine what could be achieved with a bit of support...........
Absolutely spot on. Its ashame every Blues fan won't read this. CJ gets way too much stick, how many other clubs fans critisise their top goal scorer so reguarly??? I fear most won't realise how important he is to us until he's gone!
Depends who replaces him
Who would you replace him with then?

You miss my point mate, I'm mearly pointing out if he was replaced, that replacement may have a first touch, footballing brain and be able to hit a barn door. But then again he may be much slower :silence:

More to the point is which club could Blues get to accept a bid (probably minimum£8m+), and also get a player who wants to join  We have to accept that Blues are not the most the most attractive proposition for a lot of players.
CJ is a decent Premier front man who scored 11 goals last season. Take a look around and you will see there are very few centre forwards in this country or abroad, that would score more than 11 goals in the Premier with the service he gets provided. Unless of course we are prepared to pay £15m-£20m+, which we aren't e.g. Pav, and even then it doesn't guarantee the player being a success.
Playing centre forward in England is, imo, the hardest job in football. CJ is doing a very good job in very difficult circumstances. Supporters are clamouring for new left/right wingers to supply more creativity and decent balls into the box, why, because everyone can see the main reasons for our goalscoring problems - i.e. a lack of decent passes/crosses etc into the box to enable the strikers to get good chances rather than feeding off scraps of half chances and the odd good opening.
Judgement can be made when Blues create as many chances as the top teams. If CJ was in a top 4 team he would be a 20+ goals a season striker without doubt. Until Blues have the creativity from midfield and/or out wide that make decent chances for the forwards, CJ will have to continue doing the best he can with the odd half chance that comes his way.
The more chances created, the more goals scored - simples **thumbup
Keep up the great work CJ :Blues:

Simples exactly, cuz he can't score the difficult ones. most of those he scored last year, liverpool aside and that was a fluke, my Mom would have netted.

I guess what I'm saying is ANY striker would have scored them. It stands to reason he will bag some, it's the law of averages.

jerome cant pass or dribble it would seem. yes he commits to running flat out to his hearts content for 90 minutes every week but thats all i see in him right now im afraid. i really want him to prove me wrong though!
Last season
to be honest, the only jerome goal from last season i remember was that cracker against liverpool.
You don't remember the 2 at Blackburn that won the game? The 1 at Man Utd that should have won the game? The 1 at Stoke that won the game?

I hear ya :)
Tbh Jerome was always more dangerous last season when Chucho played up front with him, i thought they were a dangerous and tricky combination together **thumbup
Chucho might not have scored many goals but he set Jerome up a few times, and the pair together must have been a handful for defenders..

Are you including the other 9 league goals he was credited with in the 'things he did wrong category' then?
