With the ammount of time and effort that has been wasted by the whole Charles N'Zogbia fiasco it has left us with now 3 days left of the transfer window, and I cant see any one permanent signing coming in at all if I'm honist.

With the short amount of time remaning a game tomorow and then a Bank holiday on Monday it looks like loans will be the best we can get IMO, and further more it seems more in the lines of deffensive cover than attacking flair and pace which I belive we need more in our team than cover as if needs be both Seb and Gardner can cover LB/RB and Ridgewell can cover CB.

I cant see Ryan Babel wanting to come to us, there has been no renewed contact and imo is a worse player than Charles N'Zogbia with equally high opinions of himself. Nathanial Clyne has been linked throughout the window but really cant seen us going back in for him, all I can see is loan's, to get a player in the same ilk as either Dembele or N'Zogbia is going to take more than three days imo.

So who or what next, what do you feel we will do in the remaining days.

To further add I have to applaud the board for firstly giving Eck the go ahead for a player of N'Zogbia and for standing firm with the wage demands, no one player is bigger than the club, dissapointing as it is it was the correct thing to do.

Yes of course.. Robinho signed for Manchester City the same day they bid for him

Same with Berbatov to man utd

Its actually the big name signings that are normally bidded for on the last day and completed

Thats what Im worried about, another Temu Tainio. Im all for adding to the squad and I dont at all buy this we need a marque signing, but from agreeing a fee for Charles N'Zogbia who I felt would have taken the team forward in many ways to then not get a player in a simular ilk will be very dissapointing indeed. Not the boards or Managers fault at all just increadibly frustrating for both parties.

Yes but this isnt Manchester City or Manchester United. We dont have unlimited funds to splash out on fees and wages or a deep ritch history of titles in both Domestic and Europian tournaments to lure players like this. We need players that want to join and be appart of what Alex McLeish and co are creating at Blues, I for one feel we are in the best possition for years to really push on an establish ourselves as a Premier League team with a solid base of players that with a few quality additions we could quite easily replecate what we did last season.

I'm sure McLeish is just as annoyed as us. He had been working on this deal for some time. :crying:

I agree, but I do think it's partly our own fault for faffing about over one player, we should have moved on to other players AM had in his sights.

There's always time - until the window slams shut we've got a chance (remember Pandiani?). AMc has said all along that we're working on a few fronts - until we do/don't hear any news I'll trust in the board :Blues:

But we did though.

We went in for Cacau couldent get him then went for Miccoli.
We wanted Bobby Zamora and Carlton Cole couldent get them so brought in Zigic
We went in for N'Zogbia couldent get him so went in for Dembele, had him practically signed then he went to his prefered club, we then had N'Zogbia accepted.
We also have had bids turned down for Clyne and have rejected Cammoransi.

I seriously dont think its the clubs fault at all if these amount of players is anything to go by then it shows the club have been mighty unlucky with this transfer window, I dont for one seccond belive that the club should have not got some of these done earlier but had it not had been for last minute changes of mind we'd be sitting here pretty chuffed and proud with this transfer window as a whole.

Tick tock...........

I for one, will not be surprised to see the transfer window close without any further additions. Permanent or loan.

Not saying it wont happen....but I've learned the hard way with regards getting my hopes up, to be deflated yet again as another transfer window comes and goes.

This is a joke how many transfer wuindows are the Blues going to trawl through and fail to get enough back up for the whole team. The initial signings were great but the simple fact is more plyaers have left the club than have joined, so are we/do we have a better team. That is questionable and the only reason I say that is I know we do have a strong team and some good experienced players that arrived last year and did great. But this year in the preimership it is going to be even harder because other teams are gonna pay more attention to us we are no longer an unknown team they know our strengths and our weakness so they will look to exploit those.
The window is mean't to be when we invest and strengthen the team unit as a whole, everyone that is in envolved in the team from the board right down to the manager knew this was coming and have not strengthen the team in.
I support blues and go and watch the blues when I can, my support for them will never faulter but I am a realist and this season is gonna be a lot harder than the last.
I suppose we wil have to see how things play out but they will regret not utilising the transfer window.

They have utilised it. I personally think that they've been bloody busy, but we have to realise that we're going to have to get used to players umming and ahhing about joining us, and that players of a certain calibre will always get a better offer than playing for us.

I'm disapointed.
You're disapointed
We're all disapointed.

But its not the clubs fault.

Of course we still have time, I expect quite a lot to happen over the next few days...especially regarding Manchester City and the players there that won't be making their 25 man squad...

instead of moaning we should realise just how tricky it is to attract players to the blues when we face competition for their services, as usually seems to be the case.

if they are foreigners their wives seem to prefer the shopping and nightlife in London...so Fulham or West Ham and co beat us to the punch.

if they are british they tend to see us a long term underperforming club with a fanbase lower than several others in the "middle league" of the premiership

if they are pure mercenaries they find we are not the highest wage payers.

But...Big Eck has still managed to bag two of the highest rated young centrebacks in the league, a current England goalkeeper from Man United, two young spanish stars, and the Serbian centreforward.

He has also refreshed older pros like Ferguson, Bowyer and Carr, all of whom had doubts about them. And he is developing younger potential stars like Jerome, Derbyshire, Redmond, Gardner etc.

It is great to be a blues fan at the moment. Wake up and smell the coffeel

Very good point.

But then theres the other side. We have a fanatstic team and squad but lack debth and with a few injuries we could be in trouble, on the other side one flair player could propell us up the league and we could push for a top ten finish again imo.

just like most of the teams around us!

And of course the big boys who do have more depth in their squads also they have lots of european games to play plus international callups.

I guess this helps to keep footbal interesting evn if we dont like it much. And i share your concerns if we pick up injuries. Last season we were incredibly lucky on that front and we cant expect that luck to continue for much longer I suppose.

Thats what Im worried about, another Temu Tainio.

Meaning someone who will save the ball from the goal line and thus save the Blues from a defeat and thus help secure a good start to a long unbeaten run? Nice! :)

Don't think we will get that many players in, can't see us getting 4 in, with 3 of them being full backs.

We will still do well with loan players eager to impress.

Hutton, Ben Arfa, Gomis, Grafite and players of that ilk could all be snared on loan.

We've got great players, let's not fail to build on our success again!
