When you team build you bring in better players to replace current first team choices either for immediate inclusion or for the future. Gardner and Michel were brought in to replace Ferguson and Bowyer when their stars fade. Zigic as a variant striker to what we have. But where is the succession elsewhere? Who is coming into the side to replace Carr, Johnson, Dann, Larsson, McFadden, Jerome? Maybe Valles has McFadden's intelligence and trickery, but Fahey looks like a backup player only. Let's forget stepping up to the next level and the £9m big names. We need 23 players capable of keeping us in mid-table comfort and this squad doesn't have that. |

Why would we be planning for Johnson, Dann, Larsson, McFadden, Jerome in the same was as we are with Bowyer and Ferguson? |

Because: a/ They could get a long term injury b/ Loss of form c/ Great form leads to their sale. |

Hooray. If true, cover for Johnson and Dann and would probably start in the front of the defence for away games. Martin Jiranek. Not exactly long-term succession planning but a fourth experienced centre-back so no need to pull LR in from LB, where I expect he will stay. |

You could do this either way beegee and still have a moaning post. Longterm replacements - Academy? So you could ask if they are good enough couldn't you? Thread 1. Short term replacements - Loans ? You could ask where the ambition was couldn't you? Thread 2. Either way mate, you must be bored solid or just upto your usual mischief to bother with these "worries" - and I must be dead bored to bother replying :LMAO: |

Ive been reasonably critical of the board for not aquring more quality up front. 1 more player would have done it such as Nzogbia. But over the past few days it has been shown thay have worked hard to provide the further cutting edge we are looking for. The fact they have worked so hard to provide McLeish with this backing must be echoed by the fans and the board and management deserve full credit. Sometimes business breaks down and deals dont happen. Nzogbia was gven every chance to join us as a sqaud but he decided to be a superstar instead. Thankgoodness he was given the old shoulder the rest of the squad would have been really pissd off and he would not have fitted in. Our current players deserve full respect also. Thankyou board for all your efforts and over tme Im sure the righ players will be prod to wear the shirt. :Blues: |

Michel will be off before its time for him to become a first-team regular. |

^Which is lucky, because he was absolutely useless against the mighty Rochdale. We need proven replacements for our boys. |

Blue R, If AM thought the Academy players were good enough he'd be playing them. What we get is NR for twenty minutes in a cup tie and the rest farmed out for experience elsewhere. Wouldn't even risk an orthodox RB but have instead SC playing whilst injured. So if there aren't Academy players available we acquire experienced short-term cover or we keep our fingers crossed for another 'invicibles' team. For me two or three key injuries and we're in trouble. Looking at the Tatts article today it seems AM has the same thinking. Maybe he had a moan at the Board about it. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: |

Thread 2. Find me a post where I said that loan showed lack of ambition or retract your scurrilous assertion. |
