I don't know how to feel after that match! Thought McLeish started with brilliant tactics, flooding the midfield and we scored a good goal. Then the second half - inviting Bolton to put pressure on us, and THEY were the ones down to 10 men, not us! For example, they have a corner, why not leave 3 of our players on the half way line - then they have no choice but to mark them. No, we have all our players defending it as if we were the team losing 2-0 and a man down. Derbyshire on the left wing? Might aswell have put Foster there! Jerome couldn't finish his dinner let alone a 1 on 1 with the keeper. We need pace and quality desperatly, especially if Seb and McFadden are injured. Fahey is average at best. Gardner was crackin once again. Although, at the start of the game I would have taken a draw. I'm just gutted/fuming the way we threw our lead away against 10 men. |

Thats football Isuppose though. I am annoyed at it too - who wouldnt (2-0 up and playing against 10 men - we didnt even test the rookie keeper until injury time). But being honest we do it a lot also -coming from behind when we look dead and buried. Just the way football goes sometimes but sure lets hope the lads learn from it and dont let it happen again this season. |

They should be on 7 points not 5 and they let themselfs and us down by not being good enough to close out a game like this. so yes they let us down yet again. Does not mean i don't still feel the same about them. ok so letting everyone down was a mistake because i forgot about you... and others that might post the same as you |

Has anyone noticed that apart from bottom nal all the teams above us have played two at home. We have only played one. I also reckon that we need to get a flyer as from Nov onwards the games are tough - Nov itself is really tough. |

to be fair he put him on to go 2 up top... Gardner moved to the left and Seb stayed right. then when Seb got injured Gardner moved right and Fahey left. what confused me was why the hell we went 2 up front to start with and why take Valles on the bench and not put him on... he's left sided! players will never get experience if we can't put them on in a game where we're 2-0 up! |

I think its quite funny that before the game everyone would be happy with a draw and and the end of the game everyone is disappointed with a draw. Its true we played better first half, its also true that we had 2 very major decisions made on 2 relatively minor offences. However It is also true that Bolton played their socks off with 10 men in the second half Its a point, we didn't lose and we havent yet, my silver lining is still Intact :Blues: :Blues: :Blues: |

i think we should realise just how much of an influence on a game a refferee can have, after Coyle had ranted at The Ref, Mr Friend for whatever reason started to give Bolton some very dubious decisions, what was 50/50 before suddenley became in favour of Bolton. Their goalkeeper got sent off for striking another opponent, probably worse offence in any match, it was the correct decision, the ref made it. However Petrov and the rest of the bolton brigade came across all holier than thou, as if they had been wronged. Coyle was still seething well into the second half and blasted the ref right there on the side of the pitch, in full view of everyone. i suggest anyone that is going to watch the highlights watches what happened after that tirade of abuse he gave the ref. that Ref had no backbone, he should have sent off petrov as well but allowed Bolton to sub him, he should have sent Coyle to the stands. talking to the ref from the side of the pitch during the game should not be allowed in my book as it influences decisions that follow. He rattled Mr Friend there is no doubt in my book. I think also Alex thought we had that game in the bag, wrong, Blues never do things easy, i had a feeling they would come back at us, the home team and all that. helped by the ref they did, but Alex must shoulder some of the blame, Derbyshire should have come on for Cameron Jerome and Blues should have continued in the same vain. Some players look unfit to me. Bowyer looked absolutely knackered and so did stephen carr but he has been on painkillers for his foot. Fahey looked like he wasn't awake when he came on, it took his mistake to shake him up. Blues overall i thought looked good first half for a solid win, when the second went in i was convinced, but something told me things for blues never run smooth, they always knock you back when your up and always suprise you when you least expect it. |

I imagine every manager discusses the quirks of their designated referee during the pre-match team talk. I'm sure AM would have told the players not to give Kevin Friend any excuse to brandish a card and particularly not to concede soft free-kicks around the box. Well, I'm fairly sure he would have done, so why did the players completely ignore the warning? |

Lets all put this into perspective here - we are unbeaten after 2 away & 1 at home, it is disappointing to not have won, but how long has it been since we could go to Bolton & come away with a point disappointed? Don't forget they did the double over us last season. Plus we were criticised last season for not scoring enough - so far we've scored 2 in EVERY Prem match & 3 in the cup - not bad so far in my book. Plus, when Bolton lost a keeper they also gained 3 extra men playing in yellow :banghead: it happens - we've been very harshly treated so far - 3 games & 3 pens against us? The tide will turn in our favour soon I'm sure of it - until then at least we are getting commitment & passion from our players & grinding out the results - better than playing pretty football & losing in my book :Blues: |

Very dissapointed with todays result, We were coasting at 2 nil, controlling the game, then we dropped to deep and said to Bolton ,come on then come and help yourself to this game, Our game plan went out the window,we stopped doing the things that got us 2 nil, Why did it happen, who to blame, the ref,yep dodgy decision, but thats what Kevin Davies does well ,Jerome take note, thats how you work your defenders,The free kick, maybe should have been ours, but thats the way it goes, could Foster have done more, maybe. Its good that we are very dissapointed with only getting one point away, As a team the boys will not be happy but a few might look back and think did I do enough, But saying that not a bad start to the season and without being boring,if only we could get these 3 or 4 QUALITY signings we could really be pushing on,oh well,I can dream , |

I imagine there are a dozen other Prem teams that want to do the same. The players with affordable fees and wages just aren't there. |
